On this First Sunday of Advent, we see how the sense of waiting and coming associated with this season is predicated upon the faithfulness of God. We read Isaiah and Matthew, each within their own historical contexts, to sense how the Biblical narrative is structured around the concept of faithfulness. As we journey through Advent, we wait faithfully for the faithful one to arrive.
