Freewill is often championed as the quality of mind that allows us to change life circumstance. This seems perfectly valid until we ask the fundamental question, "Does circumstance need to be changed?" The reality is that to change a situation, we have to first believe that something's wrong with it and then suspend observation of it while choosing how to manipulate it. What's wrong with this picture?
