Here and there, as we wander the streets of Kashan, we observe patches of yellow paint appearing at random on the walls; their distinctive shade suggests that all originate from the same supply of paint. I am told that this is to cover up the graffiti that sometimes appears. (Since other graffiti are left unpainted-over, we can only speculate about what offence was committed by the writings so effaced.)
