We visit the old Medea sanatorium in the once-thriving Georgian spa town of Ts’q’alt’ubo (წყალტუბო), whose healing radon waters have been known for hundreds of years. During Soviet times, workers’ spas were established, then left to decay after 1989. With its delapidated surfaces and an insurge of plant life, within its empty corridors and gaping window frames, these ruins evoke a kind of dreamlike state.
