Our world is filled with tests, trials and tribulations that can drive even the strongest among us into the arms of addiction. Those who study such things tell us that addictions – to drugs, food, sex, alcohol, nicotine, sugar or whatever – are really substitutes for the love we may feel lacking in our lives. Perhaps this lack is really an absence of God’s Love and Light. Truth is, God is never absent from us! We are surrounded by a limitless sea of His Presence, and it is up to us to choose to swim in this sea. When we feel ourselves alive, renewed and buoyed up by the currents of God’s Love, we will discover that we naturally prefer the Light. Where negative addictions take our lifeforce, an addiction to Light gives us greater life force. Making the switch may not be easy, but with patience and practice it can be done. It’s also vitally important to understand what forces are arrayed against us as we move closer to the Light. For more, tune in to The OPEN DOOR this Tuesday.
