What was Jesus’ real mission? Was it to make the ultimate sacrifice and die for our sins? Was it to show us the way to everlasting life? Or was it something else? The ascended masters teach that Jesus came, in part, to hold our collective karma at bay until we were able to carry it ourselves. So, in a sense, Jesus did choose to relieve us of the weight of our sins…at least for a while. Did He show us the way to everlasting life? He certainly did! Through His example and His teachings, Jesus taught us the true meaning of love - for God and for our brothers and sisters - as the path to immortality. But Jesus came to give us something even greater. He came to demonstrate not only his own Christhood…but ours, as well! This was Jesus’ great mission: to unfold for us the Reality of our own divine potential. Jesus came to awaken us to our inner divinity. Now it is up to us to accept His invitation.
