Jesus was preparing His disciples for His soon departure. He began with a wonderful promise that it was the Father's good pleasure to give them the kingdom. This was a present fact. They had it. Now they must learn to live kingdom lives before the world. They must not fear persecution or worry about earthly needs. Rather, they must make it their priority to seek the kingdom as they waited for their Lord's promised return.
