We live in a world obsessed with comfort. Comfortable lifestyles. Comfortable truths. We even want a comfortable Jesus. Not just a Savior, but a Savior who never challenges us and keeps us from challenge. But Jesus never promised that kind of life. In fact, in His final moments with His first disciples, He does the exact opposite. He prepares them, not for comfort, but for pressure. And then He makes a promise: I will send you a Comforter. But not to make us comfortable in the world, to make us faithful in it.I’m giving you a peace that won’t break.
