In hard, scary and uncertain times, there is a danger of becoming fixated on the present situation. Such as when the disciples cried out, “Jesus do you not care!” Jesus answered that question with the greatest display of love in all of human history.....the cross. Mark 4:35-41
When things are scary to the world around us, that is when it is time for the Church to rise up! A scared world needs a fearless Church. Mark 4
John 6:26-69 Are we allowing God to form our view/interpretation of who He is? Or are we forming God in our own image?
2Cor4:16-18 God uses our struggles to get our attention-to focus on the eternal and not the temporal. Where do we spend most of our time and focus? On the eternal or the temporal?
Matt11:28-30 Hurry and love are incompatible. You cannot love God and others if you are in a hurry. Slow down with Jesus.
1Cor15:50-58 Don't get comfortable in this world. It is not our home or our hope. Be steadfast and immovable in living for Christ.

1 Cor 9 Let's be about our Father's business. We have been called to help people win something imperishable. A life with Jesus Christ.

1Cor 4:8-21 Are you ok with looking like a fool for Christ? Don't have a blindspot to the trust of your spiritual condition. We all need to be allow God access to our hearts so that he can deal with where we need to grow.
1Cor 4:6-7 Pride creates tension and discord between us and God. We should be in desperate need of humility because we are in desperate need of God.
I Cor 3:16-17 How is your temple? Is your place the meeting place for others to come to know Jesus?
1 Cor 3:5-15 Are you trill running in the race in which God has given us? The whole of Christianity is founded on servanthood. What are you doing to serve?

Psalm 95 Our time in worship is meant to be a response to who God is and what He has done. He is WORTH our WORSHIP!

1Cor 1:17-24 Our jobs as Christians is to fill our minds with God's wisdom via God's word. Revival cannot happen without prayer.
1Cor 1:10-17 If there are divisions and quarrels within the church, it is because our eyes aren't on Jesus.
Acts 18 God never intended you and I to do life and ministry alone. We must have a strong foundation in the word of God in order to build on it for our ministries.
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill that cannot be hidden." Matt 5:14
Romans 15:1-7 Jesus met us in our weakness, therefore we should be meeting others in theirs.
Romans 14 We don't need to sit in judgement of others-that is the Lord's place. Lay down your rights for the sake of others and their salvation.
Romans 13:1-7 When we submit ourselves to injustices we are putting the life of Jesus and the Gospel on display.
Philippians 4:4-7. Don't rejoice in the circumstance, rejoice because the Lord is our God. John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
Romans 8:29-30 God did everything possible to show us His love through the cross, but we have to choose Him, repent and believe.
Romans 8:26-28 We need a strong and accurate awareness of our weakness and then we will be a people of prayer. 2Cor 12:9 "But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me."
Isaiah 9:1-7 Ask God to illuminate any areas of darkness in your life. 2 For. 4:6 "For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
Matthew 1:18-25 We are to be looking forward to the return of Christ-living for what is to come. Phil 1:21 "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain"
Romans 8:17-25
Life with Christ is always worth it but it is never easy. The world is not our home it is our mission field and we should treat it as such.
Romans 8:14-17 When life gets hard know that you are chosen, adopted, loved and a child of God!
Romans 8:5-8 There is no better way to "set your mind on the things of the spirit" than by reading, memorizing, and dwelling on the Word of God.

We need a NEW life in Christ when we are saved. The mark of an authentic believer is being indwelled by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:1-4
We are designed not to just take in but to pour out as well. We are a brand new creation in Christ Jesus.
Romans 7:14-25 Who prevails in your life? Let go and let the Holy Spirit guide your life.
Romans 7:1-13 Because we know Jesus, our lives are not measured by our behavior. Because we know Him, we should live to honor and serve God.
Romans 6:15-25 When we were united to Christ the door to freedom was finally opened. We need to live dead to sin and alive to God.
Romans 6:1-14 We should consider us dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. God has given us the means to live a transformed life but we have to choose it.
The spiritual and and missional health of the church is not an institutional thing, it is a personal thing. God wants to take you deeper and further-take another step in faith with God.
Romans 5:12-21 The bad news is that we are all sinners but the good news is that God still loves us and saves us through Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:19-28 Grace keeps us from thinking too highly of ourselves because it is unearned. It also keeps us from thinking too low of ourselves because we are unconditionally loved.
Romans 3 A right view of ourselves is vital. If we don't understand sin the way God does, we won't see a need for a savior; we begin the abuse grace; think we are self righteous; and never appreciate the sacrifice of Jesus.
Romans 2:1-24 We are Christ's ambassadors in this world. We should be the light in the world, not adding to the darkness. We need to represent Jesus in the ways we act, speak, work and live.
Romans 1:18 We need to understand the wrath of God to truly appreciate what has been done for us.
Luke 15:11-24 Are we living in such a way that we are comforted by our good works?
Do we truly desire the Father, or is he just a means to an end in our life plans?
Luke 15:11-24 God is missional, relentless and celebratory in His pursuit of the lost. God is not going to force His way into our lives but He is always there waiting for us to return. We must repent from our way and return to the Lord's way.
Romans 1:17 The Christian life was meant to be a continuous walk of faith. By design, we are called to take smaller steps at first and then move on to bigger steps of faith. Take a big step of faith with God today!
Romans 1:13-17 Do not be afraid to share the Gospel. God's WORD does the work, we just need to be diligent to share it.
Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires."
Romans 1 We are the representation of Christ to the world therefore we need to remain kingdom minded. "Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us." John 4:11
Romans 1:5-7 Being created in God's image doesn't mean that we are exactly like Him but we do have certain capabilities and attributes that were designed to be like God. Born again-we became a new creation in Christ.
Romans 1:3-4 "This is the real love--not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins" 1 John 4:10
Romans 1:3-4 When we think about the depth of God choosing to become a man we should be in awe and wonder, we should worship and we should want everyone to know this truth.
Romans 1:2-6 The Gospel is the fulfillment of God's perfect plan. We should have great confidence that the Bible is the word of/from God. This should affect the way you live and put reading your Bible at the top of our priority list.

Am I living a Gospel transformed life? Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." We've been set free but we can choose to dedicate our lives to Christ or not.
Galatians 5:16-25 Submit to the spirit!
"...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control".
Feed the spirit and starve the flesh.
John 21:1-19
What are you going to do with the risen Jesus? A risen Jesus allows us to stop covering up from God. You get a new purpose, mission and power source when you start new with Jesus. Jesus loving you is not based on you being lovely. Praise God for His grace that covers our sins!
Luke 19:28-44Is Jesus the King of your life? Submit your life to the Lord and proclaim His name daily.Pray that God reveals Himself and His will for your life.
1 Corinthians 14 The Gift of Tongues is an ability given by the Holy Spirit that enables a person to pray, praise, or give thanks to God in a language that is not known to the person speaking. The Gift or Prophecy is a human reporting of a divine revelation which purpose is to exhort believers that God is near and at work.
1 Corinthians 12 What is/are your spiritual gift(s)? Some people possess the gift of words of wisdom, which are a supernatural wisdom imparted to you for a situation by God. Pray to have your specific gifts revealed if you are not aware of what they are already.
Phil 2:3-8 We each have a God give gift(s), but it is our job to find out what those gifts are and use them to glorify God. We all need to have the servants heart of Christ in everything we do.
Romans 12:4-8 Are you using the gifts God has given you? Consider which gifts you were given and how you can use them for the glory of Christ. God wants to use ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
1 Corinthians 12 What are your own personal spiritual gifts? Are you using the gifts God has given you?
1 Peter 4:10 "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."
Psalm 32:8-9 Is God's voice the loudest in your life? "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." Proverbs 3:5-6 Be still and listen for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will always meet you when you seek Him.
Eph. 5:16 The filling of the Holy Spirit was never intended to be a one-time event. We should be regularly seeking the Holy Spirit. Who is in control of our lives? Who is on the throne? If it's not Jesus, we need to be seeking Him more.
Acts 2 & Matthew 26 Being filled with the Holy Spirit is important because God intends His church to have power.
Charles Ryrie “The solution to the problems of the church today lies in solving the problems of individual Christians, and the remedy is a person—the Holy Spirit.”
John 6:63 A moment in God's presence has the ability to change a life forever. Invite the Holy Spirit into your heart, home and mind daily to be filled with the Lord.
Ruth When we were hopeless in our sin God gave us Jesus to redeem us. God's specialty is working through broken people-we just need to trust him.
Matthew 4:18-22 Would you go where God calls you to? When we follow God, we should do so without any conditions or reservations.
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
1 John 4:8-10 God is holy, righteous and just but God's nature is also love. Instead of the condemnation and judgement that our actions deserve God's answer was rescue.
Mat 1:21 "Mary will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."
Luke 2 Worship is an expression of the joy that we have in knowing who Christ is.
Pslam 95:1-2 "O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms."
"Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee" -Augustine
Our only true hope lies in the Lord our Savior. We need to cling to him in good times, bad times and all of those in between.
Romans 15:3 "I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit."
Matthew 1 As we enter a month where so many things are going to try and pull us away from the Truth, we need to be extra diligent to center ourselves and our families on Jesus. Make sure your focus and priorities are right.
Psalm 100 Are we too used to the many blessings God has given us that we don't stop to thank Him? Be thankful for all that God has provided.
Psalm 113:3 "From the rising of the sun to its going down, the Lord's names is to be praised."
Acts 28 If you were to have your own chapter added to this Book of Acts… How is it going?
Acts 26 Our job is to be faithful to share Jesus with the world. Our testimonies are such a powerful way to share Jesus with others and how we have been transformed in Him.
Acts 21: 10-14 At times we may keep God at a safe distance because we are scared of what He might ask of us. Do not be afraid of God's plan for you. Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in God with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding".
Acts 19 We need to be diligent to walk in the victory Christ bought for us on the cross. The only power satan has over us is that which we give him. We need to stand in the Lord's strength.
Ephesians 4:27 "...do not give the devil an opportunity"
Acts 20 How do you approach each day? Is what you're doing and how you are living bringing glory to God? Romans 8:18 "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are n to worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us."
Acts 19:1-7 The life of a disciple of Christ is supposed to be characterized by the work of the Holy Spirit indwelling us and continuing to be filled. If Paul came across you, would the Holy Spirit be evident to him in you?
John 3:3-6 "Truly, truly I say to you, unless one if born of water and the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
Acts 18:9-10 Jesus called us to pray. Our purpose is to know Him and make Him known in all that we do. Hunger to tell others about Jesus.
Acts 18:1-17 Trusting God more and loving God more will dispel our fears. Rejection and opposition of the Gospel is sure to happen so we need to accept it and stay steadfast in our mission from God to spread the Word. Being an active part of the Body of Christ is so important. It gives us encouragement, support, accountability, diversity, humility, fellowship, partnerships and strength. Ephesians 2/Romans 5&6: Since Jesus has broken the power of sin over your life, don't let sin in; deal with it; if sin persists it's because you let it. So surrender and give yourself completely to God. Do not abuse the grace God has gifted us with.

The Holy Spirit gives us the Power to have victory over sin, live out a Godly life, walk in righteousness, and to stand victorious in the face of temptation.
There is supernatural power available to every Christian. God intended His church to have power! The Christian life is meant to be characterized by power!

The reason that Jesus was in such great torment in the Garden of Gethsemane was because He knew that in order to to pay the price for our sins He would have to bear our sin. When our sin was placed upon Him, It would mean that He would be separated from God the Father.

The Passover is a story of redemption. It's purpose was not only as a reminder of what God had done in Egypt, but for 1500 years it was pointing to and looking forward to the coming of the Messiah.
Last week we looked at a group of Sadducees challenging Jesus on the reality of the Resurrection. This week we are going to look at some of the evidences for the reality of the Resurrection.
The Sadducees had developed bad theology. This lead them to believe and teach things that were not true. Jesus tells them that the reason that they are off is because they don’t understand the Bible. This is a huge deal in Church world today. There are countless false, misleading, and even destructive teachings because the Bible has not been studied well or kept in context. We need to know the Word of GOD so we can instantly know what is false teaching and how to respond to it.

Christians sometimes get distracted and try to get through life on their own strength. This week we look at the Fruits of the Spirit. We are given the Holy Spirit and the Fruits of the Spirit to guide, help, and comforts us in our daily lives.
Last week we began to talk about spiritual gifts. In part 2 of out introduction we deal with some of the issues, doctrines, and misuses that might be associated with spiritual gifts We will look at how to discover what are your spiritual gifts.
This week we start to talk about Spiritual Gifts. Understanding Spiritual Gifts will help us understand how God intends His Church to function and how we are to view ourselves as part of the Body of Christ.
In this series we are endeavoring to learn what it means to live “Life in the Spirit.” One of the huge parts of living “Life in the Spirit” is being led by the Spirit. God longs to meet with you, speak to you, and lead you.
Christians are called to be continually filled with the Spirit. If we are filled with the Spirit and walking in Him our life will be characterized by Christlike characteristics. These are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This week we study some practical results we can expect in our lives if we are filled with the Spirit.
God intends our Christian lives to be characterized by power. This is so important that the early Church was bared from ministry until the Holy Spirit came upon them. This we we focus on why we need to be filled with the Spirit.

As Christians, we have been delivered from the domain of darkness and set free from the bondage of sin.
Do you believe that the Bible is "Truth" and all that it says and claims is true? All Scripture is inspired by God and if we believe, study, & know the Bible our lives will be shaped by the very words of God Almighty.
What is a Christian? Many call themselves Christians today, but Jesus said in John 14:15, "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments." In John 8 we see that if we continue in His word we are truly his disciples.
God is Light and we are to walk in the Light. This week we focus on the commision in Matthew 5:14-16. We are to be the light of the world and let our light shine so that we may be a witness to others and glorify our Father in Heaven.
We choose whether we are going to flirt with darness or walk in the Light. In John 8 Jesus says, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."
In John 8 there are 2 sins being committed that Jesus deals with. We want to look at our lives and see if we are living in either of these. One sin is clear and indisputable sin = the woman. The other is kind of veiled sin, or shrouded, or masked in self-righteous religion = the Pharisees.
In Part 3 of our series, "Can a Christian Lose Their Salvation?", we look at the very clear, emphatic, and beautiful promises in scripture of eternal security and the assurance of salvation.

In John 7:11-52 we come to a passage that the church really needs to embrace. What it does is center us on what is most important… that is Jesus! If you center your faith on anyone or anything but Jesus you will be disappointed. Jesus is perfect and will never fail you.

We need to have a heart of compassion for those who don't know Jesus yet. God is able to save those who have rejected him, done harmful things, and even those that we may have trouble loving.
Ephesians 1:18-20 "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms."
In Matthew 18:15-20 Jesus specifically outlines the correct steps to address another believer who sins against you.
James 3:13-18 Pastor Butch speaks on seeking wisdom from above to guide lifes decisions and our actions.
The Gospel unites us as Christians. Divisions, contention, jealousy, and strife within the Body of Christ is a horrible witness to those outside looking in.
Church growth is a sign that the Lord is moving and is not done saving our friends and neighbors on the North Shore.

If we will call out to God in prayer, He has promised to meet us there and prepare us for the unique ministries that He is calling us to.
God's written word fulfilled is a greater proof and should be more awe inspiring than the mountaintop experience witnessed by three apostles at the Transfiguration.
Jesus set an example for where we should serve Him. He met with people and went places that others wouldn't. As the Father sent Him, He also sends us.
What God has given us in scripture is sufficient. We don't need to add or have the authority to add to God's Word.
We need to understand who Jesus truly is, believe in Him, and come to Him for salvation, not as a way to get our wants fulfilled.
Are we building our kingdom or God's Kingdom? We need Jesus help us leave behind selfishness and live with a Godly purpose.
Humanity was lost and hopeless in sin & when God sent the Angel Gabriel to tell Mary that God has a plan for her.
....Count yourselves dead to sin. Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness. Offer every part of yourself to Him as an instrument of righteousness.
When the Church gathers to worship, they come together in the House of the Lord and enter His presence. We must prepare our hearts accordingly.
A Thanksgiving message where we focus on giving thanks to the Lord with worship when we gather as a congregation.

God wants to take us from a place where we are thinking, ministering, and living from a natural human perspective to a place where we live with a supernatural unlimited God perspective.
Now that the church is 2 years old we want make sure that we stay focused on this beautiful gift we call Prayer.
Our goal in spending a couple of weeks on this is to recapture a consciousness of our sentness (if that's a word). We want to be the church that Jesus intended His Church to be…And Jesus intended His Church to be on mission = (Jhn 20:21)“…As the Father has sent Me, I also send you."(Mat 28:19)"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
God may call you to something great. You need to have faith in God to get you through the Obstacle's that stand in the way of the mission God has called you to.
After (Matt 12) and the Nation Rejection of Jesus as the Messiah… we saw a distinct change in Jesus’ ministry. It went from having it’s main focus being Jesus giving evidence of Himself as the Messiah to the Nation of Israel, and teaching and preaching for that purpose.Now shifting, and having the main focus be on the training of His disciples, and preparing them to be sent out and carry on ministry after His ascension. We look at what it means to be a sent people. Sent by Jesus on mission.
In Mark 5 we take a look at the Healing of Jairus' daughter and the woman who touched Jesus' garment.
As Christians, sometimes we tend to focus on what not to do and what's going wrong. Today we focus on Praising God for the New Life that Christ has given us.
Jesus sent out 70 of his disciples…(Luk 10:17)The seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name."(Luk 10:18)And He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.(Luk 10:19)"Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.(Luk 10:20)"Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven." And there is a great danger in becoming overly focused on demonic stuff (there are entire ministries & churches that their main focus seems to be fixated with the demonic).Our focus should always be on Jesus.
We come to one of the wildest and freakiest stories in the Bible. I think this is the most descriptive picture of a demonized person in scripture. In the other accounts… we are mostly told that Jesus just cast the demon out… And maybe we’re given 1 or 2 affects of having a demon (i.e. mute or blind). But here we are given a far more descriptive account. And this is an extreme case of someone being demonized…
We are put together by God for the are of one another, and for carrying out the mission that Jesus has called us to.

Theologically, it was the official presentation of the Messiah to the Nation of Israel. Prophetically, this was the fulfillment of prophecy. Both in the way that it happened, and even down to the ery day that it happened. Spiritually, this is the Messiah on his way to redeem humanity.

This morning we are looking one of the Attributes of God – Who He is, His nature, His Character…
God is Incomprehensible, God is Self-Existent & Self-Sufficient, God Never Changes, God is Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent, God is Sovereign, God is Holy, Faithful, Just… Next week also in 1 John we see that “God is Light”
…and we will see this morning in 1 John 4: 7 -21, that “God is Love”…
Our view of Him will directly affect how we view everything else.
Our ability to be and do what we are called to, will depend on what we do with God's word.
2nd Timothy 3:16-17 states:
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for corrention, for training in righteousness;
so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
Because we are talking about Prayer as a Core Value we want to ask why? Why is this so Important?
