Peter Aldous was elected Member of Parliament for Waveney in 2010. Before entering parliament, he helped look after the family pig and arable farm outside Halesworth and worked as a chartered surveyor in Norwich and Ipswich. He has been both a Waveney district councillor and a Suffolk county councillor, where he was Deputy Leader of the Conservative Group.
