When we have truly seen Jesus, all we have is gain, never loss. And yet by all accounts of Christian Generosity in this country, We think giving is losing. At least it seems we live that way, even if we would say we believe otherwise.

It is for this reason that even talking about the “M” word is a touchy subject in church, but that reveals as much as anything else that our material wealth carries a weight in our lives that it should not. If we believed that we gained through giving, then everything we have at all times would be seen with open hands, and we would trust God to maximize it for our good, His glory, and the furthering of His gospel. We would live confidently, knowing we would never lack anything approaching life and wealth this way.

In fact here is the promise of scripture—God will make you fully satisfied through your generosity.
