This week, Pastor Jim lead us in Communion as we reflected on Psalm 75:1–10. The psalm reminds us that God is the righteous Judge who is worthy of our thanks, whose timing is perfect, and whose justice never fails. As we shared in Communion, we remembered the sacrifice of Christ, whose death and resurrection made a way for us to be forgiven and reconciled to God. We were encouraged to approach the table with grateful hearts, trusting in the One who is both just and merciful.

These chapters remind us that God’s blessings are meant to overflow into the lives of others and that His covenant love is shown through grace and compassion. Like Mephibosheth, we have been shown undeserved kindness and invited into the King’s presence.

Grace Under Pressure | 1 Samuel 25-26
This week, Pastor Jim walks us through 1 Samuel 25-26 in a message titled Grace Under Pressure, where David has the opportunity to take revenge on Nabal, but Abigail, Nabal's wife, intervenes. Rather than taking matters into his own hands, David takes the wise counsel of Abigail and spares Nabal. In these passages, we see that we don't have to take matters into our own hands when we trust God's timing.

We hear about people like Abel, Abraham, Moses, Rahab, and many others who trusted God even when things didn’t make sense. Their faith helped them stand strong and keep going through difficult seasons.

One of the most important areas where our relationship with Christ should influence our behavior is when it comes to our speech. James mentions the “tongue” in every section of this short letter.
What we do reveals who we are. Real faith will always result in real obedience. If you have the root of genuine faith in your life then you will see the fruit of godly behavior.
God doesn’t play favorites. He loves each of us with a perfect, holy love. Sadly, churches and Christians will often play favorites. Did you know that God loves you with a perfect love? There’s nothing you can do to make God love you more; and there’s nothing you can do to make God love you less. If God loves us with a perfect and impartial love, then we should love others the same way.
God tests us to strengthen us and build us up. The enemy tempts us to weaken us and tear us down.
James gives us some advice about how we’re supposed to respond to trials. God has a way of turning our troubles into triumphs.
Because the tomb is still empty, our lives can be filled with life, hope, joy, peace, and purpose.
During this time of distancing from our fellow man, it could also feel like God seems distant. Have you ever felt that way before? Has God ever felt distant? It happened to David and he wrote about it in Psalm 22.
