Is what you want more important than what everyone else wants?
So most people are in the other camp there in the camp of I'm gonna do what I need to do to make money in may not necessarily be something I love doing. But I'm going to do to make money in this is where many employees are employers plan even plays out there who hate their work jobs and I think there's a there's actually quite a lot of that I think that last time there was a survey about people with the job satisfaction.
Job satisfaction is a long-time all-time low. I think it was like 30 percent or something crazy like that. It's telling me that people do not love what they d o. The reason why people don't love what they do could be anything it could be that they're not doing what they enjoy doing, or it could be that they're working in a situation where they don't have an excellent boss we don't hear an excellent company, or maybe they're politically opposite of the political politics of the company who knows there are many many reasons why could be a work from home thing right especially with all this hybrid work stuff that's happening it could be many many people who are very unhappy with their jobs because the company has decided to bring them all back we can work remotely now if you ask me.
I think we're that that that horses left the barn there's nothing we can do about bringing people back to the office if they don't want to come back to the office and can work perfectly fine from home. I did a study on this when I was at Stanford. We talked about working from home, and then they're very, very few negatives for working from anywhere as opposed to coming into an office. I have a feeling this is going to make huge cultural changes.
Portents now think that some people feel that you should spend your time doing what you feel is important, but 9 times out of 10 this is not what people will pay you for so you have to start doing things that other people feel are important. Hence, the question is if you're a startup founder. You're thinking about a business idea how do you find out what people are interested in and what they feel is important now you can go to so like the base model things what people need to eat people need to sleep people need to have homes people need to get their hair cut I don't know people mate date procreate there's plenty of core individual human things.
That they do that, you may be able to build a business around, but if it's not something that's unique and different or at least has enough uniqueness and difference from everything that's out there, it is tough to be found it's tough to be heard in fact it's almost impossible nowadays with the amount of noise around that's on the internet if you're trying to build a new business. You launch that business without having a substantial amount of funding behind that business or at least a predetermined audience that understands that business on or knows that business, you're gonna have an adamant time getting that business out there and getting that business known unless you want to do something really spammy.
