For more than a week, the town of Ferguson, Missouri has been on edge. Following the shooting death of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old African-American man who was killed by a white police officer on August 9, scores of people have taken to the streets to protest. The police response, looking like something from Baghdad rather than St. Louis, has not helped quell the anger in the community.

What's happening in Ferguson right now is many things: tragic, infuriating, even defeating. In the past, this would be something that could be contained to the area. But technology is allowing the world to peer into Ferguson, and let residents tell stories for themselves.
