Penn State PxP voice Steve Jones joined the show. Steve talked about the differences between Devin Bush and Ryan Shazier from what he saw from those guys when they played against Penn State. The conversation then focused on Joey Porter Jr., who has been predicted to the Steelers in a lot of mock drafts. Steve said the interception numbers are easy to explain – other teams didn’t throw his way. Steve raved about his lack on penalties this past season after it was a big issue earlier in his career at Penn State. Steve talked about why Porter isn’t mocked in the top of the draft and how he manages to slip to the Steelers. Steve got into where Porter fits into a defense and where he seems to play best. He said Porter is a very smart player to go along with his natural talent. Steve labeled Porter as a good tackler, which the Steelers always look at with players in the secondary. Steve highlighted the length and closing speed for Porter. Another big question was how is Joey Porter Sr. as a football dad, but Steve gave a surprisingly good answer. Poni also wanted Steve’s take on Penn State hoops and if the Nittany Lions are poised for the NCAA Tournament.
