Steelers insider Mark Kaboly from The Athletic joined the show. Mark gave his initial thoughts on the Deshaun Watson news. Mark eased our worries on the Cam Heyward injury today in practice, saying Cam is reportedly OK and won’t be needed until week one anyway. Calvin Austin III has barely been seen since the early practices of camp, so Chris asked if there was any fear of him not making the 53-man roster. Mark said he wouldn’t worry much about Austin being there come opening weekend. Mark thinks Benny Snell is still in that second RB spot with the battle ongoing between Anthony McFarland and Jaylen Warren. The RB depth chart isn’t completely set in stone, but the last spot comes down to the performance on special teams. Mark commented on Mason Rudolph and said he got a better shake with the Steelers than what most backup QBs would’ve gotten in his first few years. Mark said he has wondered for a few years if Rudolph never gets hurt against the Jets in 2019, would he have a different path? Mark was adamant that Rudolph would not be traded now, before the season or before the trade deadline.
