FINAL ACCOUNT is a German documentary about Nazi Germany and the Holocaust. It features interviews of former mid-level German soldiers, including Waffen-SS members, and several middle-class and working-class women. The people were eyewitnesses or became part in some way of Adolf Hitler’s campaign to hound, imprison and eventually kill Jews and other undesirable people that Hitler and his top cohorts believed were “unworthy of life.” The people discuss becoming part of National Socialist youth groups and Germany’s development of Hitler’s Final Solution to kill Jews. Finally, they answer questions about their own knowledge, complicity and guilt. The movie includes newsreels and photos.
