Nobody feels great about being talked about when they're not present (especially when it isn’t good), but we all seem to do it anyway. What keeps us from being direct with the people around us? We see this all the time at work with meetings that rarely take place IN the actual meeting (the real conversation always seems to happen in the halls, cubes, and offices outside the meeting). So what is going on here, and what can we do to make things better?
