Using Zechariah once again as a point of emphasis, we see how everything changes when we come into agreement with God's Word. For when we choose to align ourselves to His Word, planting our flag on the summit of submission, Heaven will come alive in us! And using his prophecy, I also establish a basic, but vital principle that any student of the Word must know and apply in order to ascertain spiritual Truths from the Word. You won't want to pass up listening to this podcast...
In my inaugural segment over our journey through the book of Luke, I begin by using the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth as a proof to the truth that God will always reward continued faithfulness and obedience to His will! For He will not always remain silent in the midst of our lack but will, "reward those who diligently seek Him". Throw in a plea for the Church to look to Christ and not culture, a Biblical perspective towards Mary, and an exhortation for the Church to lean in to the Spirit in order to overshadow any inability within ourselves, and you have the makings of a podcast sure to enlighten and challenge you unto new heights in Christ...
Concluding this podcast series over one of the more point-blank, profound, and conclusive books in the New Testament, I wrap it up by highlighting the authors finishing touches on this detailed, and candid exposition that is sure to challenge even the most mature Believer! For in this last chapter, the author finishes his letter with a sophisticated eloquence that gives very specific rules for all who are in Christ to follow, both then, and now! Make sure to listen to this one as I will correct common misconceptions about popular verses and give thunderous exhortations sure to deepen your understanding of spiritual Truths!
God will train every child He receives, and as such, we have the responsibility to endure through that training so that we can ultimately become the perfect image of Jesus Christ. But if God saw fit to train Jesus through having Him bear a cross, then we too must endure the same. But when we choose to allow the perfect training of God to work in our lives, He allows us the beautiful privilege of learning how to fly as Jesus did, the pioneer of our Faith who set the bar at the highest level and now says to all who would take on His name, "walk as I walked"...
In the chapter often labeled as, "The Hall of Faith", I continue the flow of Hebrews into the stream of chapter 11 by dissecting the overall premise of the chapter...the commendations of God have always been, and continue to be, given to His people through faithfulness to His will. For the men and women of old who displayed courage and faithfulness to God, without the benefits that we now enjoy in Christ, serve as examples for us of what the Holy Spirit can accomplish simply through anyone who would choose to trust God through the difficult journey of Faith!
The first half of this chapter, I break down the insufficiency of the sacrificial system set up under the Law of Moses and the supremacy of the sacrifice of Christ! For only by His sacrifice can we have victory over sin and as such, we no longer need the temporary band-aid of the blood of bulls and goats. But in the second half, I dissect the firm warning the author is giving to Christians, both then and now, who would be tempted to cheapen the sacrifice of Christ by walking in deliberate sin. For while the sacrifice of Christ is far superior to the blood of bulls and goats, it is equally more precious to God...and mustn't be taken advantage of! For the Lord will judge His people...
In keeping with the common theme the writer of Hebrews has been establishing for the last 3 chapters, we see further proof of the degradation of the first covenant in order that the second may be established in and through Christ. For the elements of the Temple orchestrated by man were simply indicators pointing us to the coming Christ and now that the substance of the shadows, or the reality of the copies, has come with Jesus, there is no longer a need for any copies and shadows to be upheld...
On the heels of learning that God has bypassed the physical covenant made with Israel in order to establish the spiritual covenant with the Church, we venture into chapter 8 to give further proof that what once was, no longer is, because of what has now come in Christ! That the priesthood of old only served as a temporary band-aid as a shadow of the figure of Christ, and the covenant of old has now been made obsolete for those who have come into Christ. Pay careful attention to this podcast, for if you can grasp the reality of this message, it will unveil your eyes to so much more in and throughout His Word...
If there is one thing that has been a leading cause of heretical doctrines propagated by man in todays Church, it would be the failure to understand the foundational truth that God has bypassed what was physical in order to establish the spiritual. And in this chapter, I will navigate through this truth and hopefully bring clarity to its paramount reality because without its understanding, we will be without understanding of the new covenant we have through Christ!
Arguably, the most controversial topic in all of Hebrews is found in this plain, yet often, misunderstood and neglected chapter. For it really conveys a sobering Truth to those who are willing to take it for what it says, and not try to reason it away. And while I don't get too much into the apologetics of it all, I break it down in a simplistic, yet weighty manner that is sure to give you a reverential perspective towards the salvation we have in Christ. For as we the Church mustn't take anything for granted in what we have been given in Christ, for it truly is a once in a lifetime gift we mustn't neglect...
While aspects of this chapter give us a sneak peek as a precursor into the mystery surrounding chapter 7, this podcast focuses more on the things we can be more certain of, and that is how we as the Church must learn to grow in Christ through what we suffer for Christ. For if this was the formula for how Christ learned obedience, it most certainly will be the formula for how we will learn it as well. And understanding this concept is crucial for the journey towards being sanctified into the image of Christ...a path we must continue to walk if we want to be protected from the dangers of infantile Christianity...
There is much debate within the Church that revolves around the concept of the Sabbath. Do we still have to keep it or do we not? Is it Saturday or is it Sunday? Much debate circles around it and yet, it seems few on either side actually understand its purpose for what God intended for it from its inception. For the Sabbath was never intended to just be a means for our bodies to find rest, but the avenue for our souls to find Christ! May we as the Church stop trying to look for the rest of God in the shadows that were always intended to point to the substance of Christ!
Using Israel, the people of God under the Old Testament, as an illustration, the author of Hebrews warns the, "holy Brothers", those of us who share in a, "Heavenly calling", what happens when we rebel from walking in God's ways with a hardened heart. For just as God was provoked with His people then, so it will be today for any who choose to put Christ to the test. Consider this podcast an exhortation to the Beloved to, "not be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin"...
There have been many things that have been passed down as truth within the Church, things considered orthodox and traditional. But the question is, are they derived from, and validated by, the Word of God! Maybe! Or maybe not! In this captivating, challenging, and convicting podcast, there is a good chance that some of the traditional truths you have held to in your life will be set on edge, challenging you to take a long, hard look at the Word for what It says in full. At the very least, this podcast will challenge you to go deeper as you think on, and study through the Word! You just might find some Truth that will completely impact your entire doctrine...
In this inaugural chapter, the author of Hebrews pits the Lord of lords against the angels and prophets of old in a battle of supremacy and reliability! And in this foundational chapter that equips the reader to properly understand the rest of the entire book, we find one fundamental Truth woven into the tapestry of God's wisdom given to man...Christ reigns supreme!
In concluding his letter to the Church in Colossae, Paul reminds these Believers to, "remember his chains"...the chains he wears around his wrists as a result of living his life for Jesus Christ! And may it serve as a blunt, and convicting reminder to us that living for Christ was never intended to be an easy path, nor one without continual sacrifice. For the cross of our Lord must be the same cross we bear, firm until the end...
The Word is clear, wars and rumors of wars will continue to get worse as the time nears for the return of Christ. And as such, it is imperative that the representatives of Christ know how to represent Him well so that the world can see the purity of the Gospel, and It's power, at work in the Church. So how are we to handle these wars and what should be our perspective towards them? The answer really is clear, if you are willing to receive it, for the cross is the key to understanding what true grace is, and what it looks like in action. It is time for the Church to begin taking more of its que's from Christ and His Word instead of the culture and its ways...
There are so many things in this world that are vying for our attention as Believers! Whether that is things of the flesh, or even good things which God allows us to enjoy in this life, so many temptations exist that seek to lure us from setting our minds on things above! And in this chapter, Paul gives a simple blueprint for Christians to follow so that the Life of Christ may be fully manifest within us. In short, setting the mind on things of this world will produce death within but setting the mind on the things of Heaven will produce the Life of Christ within. The choice is up to us...
This podcast can be easily summarized by simply looking at the title of this session: "Christ is the key"! You want wisdom from God? Christ! You want access to God? Christ! You want grace? Christ! It is such a simple theme within that words would simple derail you from staying on the tracks that Scripture is trying to keep you on. So listen carefully to this podcast so that you can have the beauty of Christ unveiled to all we have been given in Him
The book of Colossians is chock-full of Truth, seeping with a profound richness that is sure to satisfy the most hungry of souls! And in this first podcast over chapter 1, it does not disappoint! For Paul unleashes an abundance of Heavenly wisdom in order to equip all Believers unto a life worthy of the Gospel, detailing how we as Believers can live out the life of Christ in full. In short, by grace, through faith, in humility! That phrase will make more sense by the end of this podcast you surely will not want to miss...
No matter what this life brings us, or withholds from us, Paul learned the secret to finding contentment and that is a deep, intimate love for Jesus Christ! For no matter what came his way, he could face it because he knew the Lord was at hand for those faithful to His calling and purpose, obedient to the total will of God as servants of a higher Kingdom! May the Church once again learn this Truth so as to live in a manner worthy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
There is a theme all throughout Scripture in which God illustrates our need to decrease in order for Heaven to increase in us, and this chapter is dripping with this concept all throughout. For it is impossible to serve God as He ought to be served while living as a people of mixture, whether of the Law of Moses and the Law of Christ, or living of this world and living for Heaven. We can only truly serve one master, and be under one rule...may it be the government that was on His shoulders (Isaiah 9:6-7)!!

Paul's opening address to the Church in Philippi can be summarized as a declaration and exhortation for the Saints to stay on mission and not lose sight of Heaven's agenda, no matter what they would suffer as a result of claiming the name of Christ! For God has promised to provide all we need for this Journey of Faith, if we would simply be willing to let our manner of life be worthy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ...
This podcast is split up into 2 areas of emphasis: 1) the need for respect and honor to be reciprocated between any authority and the one who submits to that authority, and 2) how we as Christians can withstand the schemes of the devil by putting on the whole armor of God, and what that practically looks like. For until we learn how to fully suit up in Truth, the devil will always be a step ahead in the war over our sanctification to become more like Jesus

Picking up right where I left off at the end of chapter 3, I follow the current which Paul is taking us down and detail what the responsibilities of Church leadership is, and to what end Paul urges us all towards. And simply put, it is the perfect man! For it must be our aim, as it is our charge from Heaven, and until we begin to live by faith in what is unseen, we will never live out a life worthy of the calling to which we have been commissioned. May the Lord open up the ears of His People to hear what the Spirit says in His Word so that we may be bearers of Truth and not be deceived by the schemes of the devil, and tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, but once again stand as Believers in what is impossible...
In the first part of this chapter, Paul expounds upon some of what he wrote about in the beginning of his letter regarding the mystery that was hidden until the coming of Christ. But the bulk of my focus in this podcast is on what has been unlocked for us in and through Christ! For now that He has come, and the eternal purpose of God has been realized in Him, what was once impossible has now become attainable, most notably, an ability to live the Christ-like Life, even unto perfection...
1 Corinthians 8:6 says that we exist through Jesus Christ, and for the glory of God! This one short verse pretty much summarizes the entirety of this chapter which Paul writes to the Christians in Ephesus, for it was by God's extended hand of grace that any of us even have an opportunity at life in Christ! But what exactly did His grace afford us, what does it look like when lived out in Truth, and what is the cost in receiving it into our lives? The answers to these questions, and so much more, are discussed in this stirring and riveting podcast sure to open your eyes to the beauty of God's tapestry, also known as, the Church
Embarking on our journey through Ephesians, we begin by breaking down 2 main points of emphasis in chapter 1: what exactly was the predestined mystery according to Paul and what precisely do we have access to in Christ! And using the fullness of the context of both the passage, and the rest of Scripture, I detail some fundamental Truths that are paramount to who are to be in Christ, and all that we can be in Him! This is definitely a podcast you can't afford to disregard if you are serious about knowing and living Truth...
In this final installment in our series over Galatians, we find Paul culminates his letter by giving a very simple, yet very profound warning the the Christians in Galatia; you reap what you sow! And in this charge, he reminds us all that we must endure in Him to the end in order to receive what is promised. In one final push to convey his point, Paul tries to wrap up his message to the Churches in Galatia by giving an ultimatum; it is either identification with Christ through sharing in His sufferings, or it is to fall away from grace. And after his charge to the Body to endure in Christ, he gives them the hope of knowing that they have been given all they need to overcome the weakness of the flesh by surrendering to the will of the Spirit. And his message is just as needed today as it was then

Whether it is in the family unit or the Church, his pattern, also known as discipleship, has very black and white lines that He gives us for which to color inside of. But in todays 21st century, much of the Church has seemed to venture away from His prescriptions and have charted our own course, blaspheming the Word of God in doing so. In similar fashion to Paul's letter to Timothy, he now writes a letter to Titus on what Godly eldership should look like, both in how it should be structured within a Church, but also, what it looks like to be qualified unto eldership. We live in an age where absolute Truth has been reduced to relative ideologies, and masses of people who claim the name of Jesus are turning away from the Truth of the Word, and wandering off into man-made falsities derived from relativism. But that is not how the Church of Jesus Christ is suppose to function and live! For we are commissioned to be pillars of Truth who are willing to boldly stand upon the bedrock of the Word of God. So how are we suppose to combat the fallacies that have crept in and are deceiving the masses? Grace...
In the second chapter, we learned what Paul, and by extension, God, expects of all those who claim His Name...to share in suffering for Christ! To be willing to suffer for His name sake, and to endure through trials in the image of Christ. But in this chapter, we learn why we will have to suffer in these last days! For people will be in love with themselves to greater extent than even in Paul's day. But not just people of this world, the infection of selfishness will infiltrate the Church as well. And it is to this end that Paul gives Timothy this charge, that is anyone desires to live a Godly life in Christ, they will be persecuted. For anyone who desires to live like Christ will be persecuted by those who don't...
In part 2 over our journey through the 2nd chapter of 2 Timothy, I expound more upon what Paul writes on what it looks like to be a true servant of Christ. For there is a way that is approved by God that allows us to be useful vessels for His Kingdom and ready for every good work, and a way of service that prohibits us from being useful to Him, unprepared to face the challenges of life. And as Paul charges Timothy to, "do his best...", I pose the same challenge to you listener. Are you doing your best to stand approved before God? Are you training for the trials to come so as to stand the test as one approved? Listen to this and find out how you match up to Paul's charge to Timothy...
What does it mean to be "strengthened by grace", why do we need to be, and unto what purpose? In this podcast, I dissect the answers to those 3 questions by unpacking what Paul writes to Timothy, explaining what he means by charging him to, "share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus"! For there is a big distinction between living as a civilian, and living as a soldier. Which one are you?
In Paul's introduction to Timothy, we see him give a thunderous exhortation to him to help prepare for war! But it goes deeper than that! Paul not only urges him to share in suffering for the Gospel of Christ, but he re-enforces to him the power we have received in Christ. Believer, we have received everything we need to be victorious on the battlefield! But the question you have to wrestle with is, "will you choose to fight as a soldier, or recluse as a civilian"? It is this question, and so much more that Paul boldly, and emphatically, proclaims to Timothy in this introductory chapter that is sure to stir you up, and fan into flame the gift of God within you!
This podcast can be summed up by challenging you to ask yourself this question, "Is Christ enough"? Is He truly enough for you or do you find yourself lulled into the temptation and trap of desiring Jesus plus something else...God plus mammon? "I'll be content when I find a spouse", some might say. The clearly defined, Biblical roles of man and woman are under assault today! And not just in the world, as confusion is at an all-time high among many, but also in the Church. For many are ignorant to what the Bible teaches when it comes to how men and women are to act, and function as representatives of Christ and servants to His will! And though this podcast might anger many, it will only anger those who do not want to obey the clearly defined blueprint God has stated in His Word, thus revealing a black spot on a heart that is suppose to be unblemished (John 14:15). For neither culture nor circumstance should ever supersede the Word of God, especially when it comes to establishing the Biblical roles of man and woman!
Mercy extended to undeserving souls such as us, was never intended to leave us as we were! It was meant to change us, propel us, and move us into a Christ-like nature that cares more for His Kingdom, and less for our own, so that we can be living examples of what grace can do to a heart in love with Jesus! And thus Paul's declaration in the second half of 1 Timothy. But what if some pervert that mercy, and grace, into something it wasn't intended to be? Paul has a firm message for that as well. Kicking off our series over 1 Timothy, we begin in the same manner in which Paul does his letter to Timothy, a fervent and passionate charge to the Church to establish sound doctrine within our masses! It seems there are some today who would prefer to make Truth relative instead of absolute, choosing to ignore the clear lines of Truth for gray areas of preference. But the cry of Truth could not be any more clear in Paul's charge to Timothy: establish pure doctrine within, or perish...it's that serious. And as such, this podcast has a firm, and blunt edge that is sure to offend any who are not eager to live out, "sound doctrine"...

James is as direct in this small section of his letter as he is in any other part of it: riches stored up for ones own comfort and luxury will be evidence against you, and testimony against your heart, on the Day of Christ when you stand before Him! What is Truth? Its a question that Pilate asked Jesus to which He held His tongue from answering. And while those attributes are so paramount to our faith, they are not superior to the need for Truth to be at the forefront of who we are as the Body of Christ. Jesus didnt just endure hostility from sinners so that He could fulfill the predestined plan of God, overcome the curse of sin, conquer death, and fulfill the Law of Moses. In dissecting verses 9-15, we uncork two foundational Truths that are, often times, left unchecked in modern Christendom teaching. 1) We are called to pursue looking like Jesus in how we invest "our" money, and 2) Apostasy is a legitimate concern, even for a true Believer. And while these two main points of emphasis in this podcast are simply a given as a springboard to spur the listener into a deeper study of God's Word, they are two elementary truths that cannot be avoided!
Often times, teachers today will expound upon the promises of God while neglecting to teach the conditions of the promise. But this failure to teach the whole Truth can have damaging effects, even completely negating the promise altogether. Jesus, "learned obedience through what He suffered" (Hebrews 5:8), then why would we think God would choose to refine us any differently? In this podcast, we simply unwrap the Text to teach simply what It says! And that is, that God will refine His children through trials, sufferings, and hardships. A.W. Tozer once stated, regarding Leonard Ravenhill's book, "Why Revival Tarries", that his book will make you find a corner to go pray in and repent, or one that will make you throw it across the room in disdain, never to pick it up again. Similarly, this podcast will likely be the same for you! The outcome as to which response you will display, much like with Ravenhills book, will be determined in how you value and treasure the Truth of God's Word. So what is this podcast about? In short, it can summarized by this statement: "To partake in celebrating the Fourth of July is to partake in celebrating sin". Listen to find out why...
We all have a choice in how we choose to invest our lives, our time, and our money! But did you know that the Word dictates to Christians exactly how we are to invest in all three categories? God doesn't save us, only to leave us to our own ways. He wants to use us for the betterment of His Kingdom, name, and glory! So He gives us very specific commands on how we are to function within the scope of eternity! Those commands, those rules laid down from Heaven, are found in His Word. And in summarizing, and finishing up our series over 1 Corinthians, we highlight some of these ways God wants us to choose to be eternally invested in His plan, embracing the obstacles that might come our way! But the question has to then be asked, will we choose to faithfully invest wisely, in full accordance with His Word and no matter what trials we might face as a result of our obedience...or in a way that seems right to us?
In this podcast, we talk about what true grace is, and how it is applied to the account of a Believer. For though grace is freely extended, it most certainly requires something from us in order to be applied and utilized unto our lives so that we may make use of all of its benefits! We also discuss why we as Christians have hope to endure through the rigors of this life so that we may attain the resurrection from the dead. For our hope is in the promise of a Person, and in our position in Him, and not in the things of this world. And as such, we must see this life as Paul detailed in Philippians 3 when he says that he counts everything as rubbish compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord...that through any means possible, he may have hope to attain the resurrection from the dead. We must remain immovable from our position in Him if we hope to receive what is promised...

God's Word has a prescribed order for how His Church is to function, in all things! Thus going outside of that order is to venture outside of God's very presence and protection! With such a weighty, and important prescription, it would do us as His Church well to make sure we are in-line with His Word. In this segment, we delve into the last half of chapter 14 to discover the seriousness Paul puts on God's proper order and how not walking in it can actually cause the ear of God to run deaf to our prayers. What do you say about a passage that has been circulated time and time again in sermon after sermon? So in this segment, I will seek to encourage each Believer to know that they have been empowered by God with a supernatural gifting so as to primarily serve Him, and edify His Body. And included with this supernatural gifting is the command to show no partiality among one another in His Body unto the intended role God has given us. In Philippians 1:27, Paul says to the Church in Philippi, "Only let your manner of life be worthy of the Gospel..."! Its a slogan we often quote in Church but unfortunately, it has become seen as more of a cliche than it is seen as a command. But what does this verse have to do with communion? Don't we partake of communion because we are "unworthy"? In a simple answer, yes. But the answer is also, no, for as we will see in 1 Corinthians 11, answering that question is a bit more complex than meets the eye. Join us as I dig into the Word to discuss a paramount Truth that every pastor needs to hear for the sake of his Flock...literally, lives could depend upon it!

The Old Testament is chalk full of physical examples of how God treated His own People, the Jews, when they rebelled against His covenant and testimonies, and these examples, as Paul says, are written down for our instruction in Christ. But what does this mean? How can we attribute the things of old as instructions for us who are now His People, the Christians, in light of the New Covenant? In this segment, we delve into what Paul means when he says, "we must not put Christ to the test...", and what the consequences are for those who choose to vacillate between this world, and Heaven! The Gospel has blessed us with certain liberties from the bondages of the things of old but what if those liberties would cause another to stumble? What if the rights, and freedoms we have been given, even certain privileges, become a hindrance for others to receive the Gospel? What does it look like to love like Jesus loved, and how can we as His Body truly love one another in Truth as He did? In this segment, we take a contextual look at how Paul addressed the Church in Corinth to love each other in their day, and how that same method must be applied to us today as well. So, Christian, do your actions prove that you are ruled by love, or by your own freedoms?

With so many nuances in this chapter specific to relationships in general, its hard to hammer down one topic within this chapter to hone in on. But, if we had to, it would be on establishing a Biblical viewpoint of divorce and remarriage, rectifying it to a Biblical perspective that parallels to the covenant we have with God in Christ. And in a Church age where we have lost the Biblical foundation of marriage, or have been just as guilty in elevating it too highly, getting back to promoting sound doctrine within is paramount to living lives pleasing to God. Breaking this chapter into 3 or 4 main themes in which Paul is yet again rebuking, but instructing, the Church of Corinth unto righteousness, we delve into yet another doozy of a chapter to discover Paul urging God's People to live in a way reflective of the Gospel, and not of this world. There are few chapters in all Scripture that tend to get overlooked, misunderstood, and misapplied quite like this one! It was only about 3 weeks ago when I gave a podcast over a small section of 1 Corinthians 4, but in this one, we continue our journey through 1 Corinthians by establishing two very specific points within the whole of this same chapter. 1) What is a healthy form of stewardship in Gods eyes and 2) What does it look like to walk in the image of Jesus Christ, reflecting not only His character, but His Life which He lived. There is a very clear mandate in Scripture that we as Christians must take care how we build on the foundation of another Christian! And in this segment, we wrestle with not only what that looks like, but also the consequence of doing it incorrectly. For Paul says that whether you plant, or whether you water, all things must be done to build up others unto the Christ-like Life, so take care how you build on the foundation of another!

God never intended for His People to remain as infants, but to progress into maturity, just as He never intended for His Gospel to be watered-down into just a, "love gospel" absent of declaring the need for people to repent. Knowing this inescapable truth, the question then becomes, which one is giving you applause for the way you live your life, as it is impossible to receive applause from both? Jesus says, you can only serve one Master, God or this world...which one do you serve?

It's 4:30 in the morning and God is burdening my heart! Do I stay sleeping or do I wake up and share it with the world? This morning, I woke up and shared, and the result is this podcast! So what is this burden that has me restless and unable to sleep? Its the absence of the Word of God being revered by the People of God. I see so many Christians who treat the Word as a Book of suggestions rather than a Book of commands and expectations by a holy God, fearing to be lumped in with the dreaded term, "legalist" if they choose to actually obey. But that isn't who God calls us to be, nor what He expects from us. So buckle up for this one as I firmly admonish the Church to get in the game and start training themselves, and others, as if they actually want to win and please their Coach!
Jesus, who chose to live as a poor man, gave us the example of how to live as aliens on this earth. The Apostles embraced that same calling and chose to be regarded as, "the scum of the earth". The early Church followed the example of both, which resulted in choosing to, "sell their possessions and belongings" in order to gain more of Christ. But somewhere along the timeline of Christendom, we have dismissed the example of Jesus, His Apostles, and the early Church, and ventured into carving out our own path which says we can have the best of Jesus without having to actually live like Him. But according to Him, that isn't following Him at all (Luke 9:23-24). For a true Christian, one who seeks to live out the Christ-like life, is a soldier of a different realm, a Heavenly Kingdom, and understands that the civilian life is irreconcilable with the cross of Jesus. And in this segment, we not only detail how Christians should steward earthly wealth as according to His Word, but we also uncork some personal past failures that show the utmost importance of giving as He gave towards the work of God! The character of God is being hijacked! Not just by the world, or the deceptions of Satan...but by the Church! It's a bold statement, but one that is true. But how? By not proclaiming the full character of God. Instead, many have cherry-picked through the Word to find the aspects of God that are more palatable to our lives, wants, and preferences and in so doing, minimized the need for His Lordship over His possession into solely being, "the God who saves". God takes sin very seriously, and the calling He has given to us in Christ was never one intended to have compromise attached to it! He has ordered us to rely upon His grace and powerfully walk in the image of His Son in all things, and to never allow any degree of darkness into our lives! But the seriousness to which God has decreed for us to follow His lead has for some reason lessened in much of the Church today. For many rely upon justifications and excuses as to why they cant walk as He walked, instead of clinging to faith to pursue living as He lived...as imitators of God Himself! Seven callings that we who are in Christ have been commissioned by Heaven to fulfill on earth, and have been equipped with all we need in order to accomplish them as, "more than conquerors"! But what are these seven callings which have been ordered from Heaven for those of us in Christ, and why is it so important to not only know them, but faithfully fulfill them? Establishing a theme throughout the book of Ephesians, we continue in our progression of understanding that Christ is the beginning and the end of all things! And in this segment, we discuss the responsibility to steward well what we have been given in Christ and His Gospel of grace! Stewardship, often referenced in regards to money, carries with it a much broader spectrum than what many realize today, and grace is no exception. Using the parable of the talents as a relation point, we bring to light the reality of our need to steward the grace of Christ well so as to not receive His grace in vain! For our aim as the Church must be the glory of God in all we do, and there is no better way to reveal His glory to rulers and authorities in the Heavenlies, than by faithfully stewarding His gift of grace in the imprint of Christ Jesus our Lord!
In our first study over chapter 1, we discussed the centrality of Christ, and how He was the plan, the purpose, and the revelation (and source) of God's predestined plan for the inclusion of the Gentiles into this salvation we have been given! In this chapter, we discuss the sufficiency of Christ, who is all sufficient for our redemption from sin and death, and the fulfillment of the requirements of the Law of Moses on our behalf! We were dead, and incapable of generating Heaven's life inwardly. But in Christ, Heaven made the first move towards us and we, in that same image, must be inclined to take the Life of Christ unto a dying world, and even a stagnant Church. Abba has charted, paved, and extended to us the Way (John 14:6) and His extension of grace must not be given to us in vain! So give heed to this message, knowing that in Christ, you have been redeemed for a higher purpose, and are being constructed, not in any part by the Law of Moses, but by the Spirit of God who lives within through the blood of Christ! He is sufficient for all our needs so gird up, strengthen those weak knees, and take courage, for He who called us is trustworthy to fulfill in us, what He fulfilled in Jesus!!
Predestination is a term that has been thrown around Christendom for centuries, and yet, many have stood on opposite ends of the spectrum as to what this word actually means, resulting in many erroneous doctrines of man. But the mystery of this word is not solved by what it means, but by Who it points to! You see, we like to make ourselves the main characters of the story, citing truths such as God's love for us as the main thrust of the Gospel. And while there is truth to His love, it couldn't be farther from the truth as to what the Gospel truly is, and Who it is truly about. Broken up into two segments, we hit Daniel 11 with a slightly different approach than normal. In part one, which covers the first hour, we highlight how the prophecies given in Daniel 11 seamlessly, and flawlessly, are identical to how history unfolded in the coming years ahead of Daniel. So you history buffs, this first segment is geared towards satisfying that craving for historical facts! And running with the confirmation we receive from the Word as to the providence of God, we then move into our second segment which focuses on exposing the schemes of the spirit of the anti-christ, specifically flattery, and unpack how we as Christians can fend off his schemes to deceive us by becoming mature in our knowledge of the Word. So if you want to have history unfolded, and be taught how we as Christians can survive the coming onslaught of the devil, this sermon is for you!
There is an overall encompassing theme to this study that encapsulates the entirety of the book of Daniel. It isn't found in having proper eschatology, or learning how to respect the governing authority of a nation (even an ungodly one), or even in learning how to walk by faith and not fear. All of those are good, and are found in this prophetic book, but it isn't what we believe to be the over-arching message in which the Spirit is leading us to hold on to! So what is it? Daniel's message for us is one of hope! More precisely, our responsibility to hold to the hope we have been given! In this final, and conclusive study over the book of Daniel, we emphasize the message of hope with an exhortation to Believers to not lose sight of keeping eternity in view, no matter how troublesome things get! This is not our home, nor do we abide in a Temple that can be destroyed! We have received a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, and in that hope, we possess an anchor of the soul that will not be moved! For the one who maintains his hope in Christ, maintains his footing! You won't want to miss this study!
Get out your steel-toed boots for this sermon as it has been a little while since the Lord has prompted a rock'em, sock'em type message that is sure to convict the wayward and comfortable and challenge the mature and committed! This study over Daniel 10 focuses on the refining fire of God that is used to prove us, testing us so as to purify our faith so that we might learn the value of steadfastness, and mature unto the Christ-like image! Using James 1:2-4 as our foundation text, we build from there to establish not only how God refines us, but why, and unpack our responsibilities towards His refining fire. In short, this sermon is geared towards emphasizing our responsibility to suffer and endure for the sake of the Gospel so that we might become who God intends us to be! There are two over-arching themes in this sermon that are geared towards taking an in-depth look into Scripture to find some hidden Truths that have seemed to be misrepresented in the Church today, thus misappropriated in our doctrine. One of those themes is unpacking what Scripture teaches about God's love and whether or not it truly is unconditional, or if man has done a masterful job at twisting it into what we hope it might be. But only one can be true! The other is defining what the role of a prophet is, and discovering why those who are simply speaking the message of God, to the people of God, are often hated, reviled, ignored, and persecuted by those who hear their words! Following up a prophetic history lesson in Daniel 7, we find another prophetic history lesson which solidifies and confirms the message Daniel received just two short years prior. And while Gabriel the angel gives a clear interpretation of Daniel's vision in this one that leaves little to the imagination, there is still plenty that is left open to interpret! But no matter your viewpoint on end times, the Word seems to steer us away from focusing so much on the "when", but rather points us to focus on the "how" and "what": how we can be faithful until the end, and what we are to look towards for when the end will come. And if history can serve as a confirmation to what was fulfilled, we would do well to pay attention to what is written, and still to come!
This chapter has been the foundation piece for many viewpoints and interpretations on end-time eschatology, but also one which has fueled many contentions and arguments amongst the Church over the years. But it's pinpoint accuracy, prophesied hundreds of years prior to, must not be ignored and swept under the rug any longer. For we live in a day and age in which the world has never been more ripe for the taking, so to speak, and primed for these prophecies, coupled with Revelation, to be fulfilled! If there is one thing we can learn from this chapter, and seeing how history has proven it's validity, it is that the return of Christ is imminent! He is coming, and this study is one that will set you on the edge of your seat in expectation for your King to return! We fully admit that we do not have all the answers, and this study is only a glimpse into the possibilities of what might be coming, or even what has come. But no matter your viewpoint, the notion of urgency has never been higher for the Church to stand up, and call upon one another to endure for what is coming...
Life is filled with potential compromises! Everywhere we turn, we are faced with the decision to compromise, or to stand. But not all compromises are bad, only the ones that strike a deal with Satan to compromise who we are to be in Christ, our mission for Heaven, and our reputation as ambassadors for Christ! You see, if a compromise is an agreement between two parties in order to attain terms of peace, then compromising our integrity as Christians is making a deal with Satan in order to attain peace with him. But how can we stand against compromise? Learning from Daniel, we see that the only real way to stand against spiritual compromises, whether small or large, is to kneel before our King! Listen to this study and allow the Spirit to take a well-known story and deposit it's truths deep in your soul!
The message of Christ, and the example of His life here on earth, was summed up in the expression, "It is more blessed to give than receive" (Acts 20:35). To serve rather than be served was the motto He expressed, and exampled, to His disciples, and yet, so many in the Church today live to bless themselves at the expense of others. Is this what Jesus was about? Is this what He taught? Or was His message more about radical giving, sacrificial love, and choosing to be "mistreated with the people of God rather than enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin with the world"? He was a man, wholly true to His mission, and no lure of this world was enough to entice Him to build His own kingdom of His own will here of earth! May we live our lives for the joys of what we can give for our King, not what we can attain for ourselves, being wholly devoted to the King of kings...for, "here we have no lasting city, we seek the city that is to come" (Hebrews 13:14)
When an enemy wants to destroy someone, or incapacitate them and render them useless, one of his methods is distraction. If he can distract you from your purpose just enough to take you away from your mission and focus, he can lull you into the trap of vacillation. The Bible calls this, double-mindedness, or two-spirited! You see, there is a spirit of this world, and a Spirit of Heaven, and these two wage war for your attention, affection, and adoration, and pride is most often the guilty culprit in the spirit of the world finding a place to operate. But what is pride, and what can stop it's progression once it has started? Listen to this message and find the answers to those questions as we dissect, once again, a page in the story of King Nebuchadnezzar's revolt against God
What does it mean to worship? Adore, bend the knee, kiss the hand, all phrases that Biblically describe the concept of worship! And while we all consider it a simple understanding to define what worship is, the object of our worship can be a little more complicated to define, and even deceptive. For satan, the great deceiver that has been thrown down to the world, seeks followers just as Christ who ascended from it into Heaven! Jesus, who gives of His domain to those who will bend the knee to His governance, is seemingly counteracted by the god of this world, who will also give of his domain to those who would bow to him! And in dissecting this commonly known story about three men who refused to bow to the shimmering statue set up by the king of Babylon, we find that a similar temptation is being dangled to the masses. The point of this study is found in this phrase: "we can have the world, or we can have God...we cannot have both!"
How do you respond to difficult, if not impossible, situations in life? When things outside of your control come flooding into your existence, do you respond to them with doubt, or faith? With fear or confidence? With seizing control from the sovereign hand of God or yielding it to Him? Using Daniel as our example, we itemize a few things about his response to an impossible situation that will be a carrying device to take throughout this entire chapter. For the question posed to the depths of his soul then, is the same question that you and I face today...do we truly believe?
We often hear the Scripture in Acts 5:29 that says, "we must please God rather than man". And it is such a true, and even needed exhortation that the Church desperately needs in this pampered age of humanistic reasoning and catering to the demands of a culture. However, we as Christians are not called to be one-sided in our obedience, but rather to encapsulate and embody the full teaching of the Apostles, built on Christ as the cornerstone. For we are not just commissioned to please God, but to aim to please man AND God, if possible! In this sermon, we highlight how Daniel, just a youth who had been led into captivity to the pagan, and hedonistic Babylonian empire, would both respect and honor the kingdom that took him away from family, friends, and home. How would Daniel respond to his tyrannic rule while still resolving to honor God? Listen and find out, as this message is one that every Christian needs to hear!
Sorting through several examples, both in the Word, and throughout history, we delve into the topic of Biblical Motherhood, extrapolating one very key thing...motherhood is absolutely vital and beautifully designed by God! But motherhood that leaves a lasting legacy in God's sight functions differently than the general, run-of-the-mill type that is most often seen parading around today. For God gives a very distinct, and specific blue-print for what it means to be a Biblical mother. This sermon is meant to encourage, but also challenge mothers to become who God has called you to be, as according to His Word and not this world! It is meant to reveal a gold-standard, or pinnacle of motherhood so as to encourage women to embrace the upward climb of being sanctified into the image of motherhood that God has both designed, and equipped you to achieve. So how about it? Will you start the climb so that you may leave a lasting legacy as a mother, God's way?
There are three main things that Paul emphatically addresses in his closing statements to the Church in Corinth that he has been so intricately involved in their discipleship and training. 1) He has been given authority over them as an Apostle and though he would prefer to not have to use the "rod", he most certainly will in order to preserve the purity of the Gospel, and cleanse out any leaven from the Flock! The understanding, utilization, and submission to the Biblically-appointed authority of Church Eldership is sorely lacking today in the Body, and Paul seeks to breathe order back into the Church in Corinth. 2) Paul will not tolerate any teachings which undermine the glory, and singularity of the Gospel, nor would he allow the abuse, and manipulation of the true grace of God to be twisted on his watch! 3) He understood, and sought to reveal to the Corinthian Church, that their aim should always be restoration with one another, knowing that relationships cannot be restored as long as willful sin is being practiced. For if there is rebellion, there is a hindering of the work of God in ones life, including the works of grace, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Yes, Paul said these three things are conditioned upon the obedience of the Believer...so listen to see how
Every great athlete has had a great trainer that pushed, motivated, encouraged, challenged, and even under certain circumstances, disciplined them! These trainers often see beyond what the athlete believes he or she is able to accomplish and thus is able to motivate them unto greater heights! We as Christians are no different, for we have access to be trained by the best, Jesus Christ Himself! But to be the best, you have to muster up the endurance to make it through the muck and mire of training. For every athlete will face these seasons from time to time, and it is in our response to these trials that will determine the effect of our training. In this sermon, we will delve into the training of Paul, and how even he failed to see the bigger picture in the midst of the hardships. But who he became through the rigors of being trained, even wrung out by the trials he faced for the Gospel, serve as a beautiful picture of what grace, the true grace of God, can accomplish in the life of a Believer who is willing to suffer for the sake of the Kingdom of God...no matter the thorns they must face!
