Ecclesiastes 4:4-6 by Robert Krumrey
Earlier in the book of Ecclesiastes we heard about the experience of work under the sun = toil. The fruit of one's work is never equal to the effort one puts into work and if you do acquire some wealth it winds up wasted by a fool. In chapter 4, the Preacher circles back around and does some more reflection on work. Here he reveals that we experience work as toil because we are doing it out of envy. Find out more in this sermon about our tendency toward envy, how it negatively affects our lives, and what can be done about it.
