John Kennedy is a pioneer in the field of Applied Neuroplasticity. He was contracted by the US Marines in 2006 to create an on-digital neuroplastic mental performance training program to reduce casualties in combat by improving attention, intuition and decision making under stress. He has since helped over 2500 people, in the areas of military, education, business, mental resiliency, improve their quality of life. He is also the author of the forthcoming book Zombie Thinking™- Why we do what we do and how to change it.
John’s motivation to work in this field is derived from a personal story when his brother returned from Iraq and told him “John, we have to do something to help these men and women stay alive”. From there John developed a system that helped the Marines to think more quickly and with better focus. This tool of Targeted Neuroplasticity is the capability the brain has to change based on stimulation. In practice, this is targeted exercises in the brain which then create processes to make subconscious connections more quickly.
He has a “no digital” rule and discusses the danger of “Digital Dementia” as well as ways to prevent it. He specifically discusses how increased digital use alters children’s brains and how parents can work to prevent these things from happening.
John concludes with some amazing tips on how to improve memory and focus and challenges listeners to do hard things!
