Daniel 8:6-8 - The qualities and activities of the goat with the single large horn are reviewed and compared against the historical record of Alexander the Great. The encounter between the ram and the goat is assessed for how it describes the fall of the Medo-Persian empire and the rise of the Grecian empire. What is made clear is the absolute sovereignty of God within these events. The sudden death of Alexander the Great precipitated a power struggle which ultimately led to his kingdom being divided up into four parts, exactly as the Bible had predicted.
