Daniel 8:9-12 - A shift in Daniel's vision begins here as an emphasis on this emerging "smaller horn" becomes clear. Two key questions are natural to ask at this point: "Out of which of these four horns did this smaller horn emerge?" and, "Who, or what, is represented by this smaller horn which emerges from the larger one?" It is not difficult to determine the source of this "smaller horn" as the Seleucid territory, but it is more challenging to answer the second question. Four options are briefly discussed: Satan, Rome, Antiochus Epiphanes, and the final antichrist.
