Welcome to the entrepreneur like you with business attorney and entrepreneur chance reynolds, a daily podcast that brings you the best legal tips, marketing strategies and storytelling tactics that will help you grow your business though, right

audience up to 5,000 members. So how did I get to this? So I guess facebook, I knew that there was a limit on how many facebook friends you could have on your personal profile. Yesterday when I was doing the podcast, I kept saying your personal page. What I mean is your actual personal profile, not like a public figure page. So I'm, I'm walking through a course I mentioned yesterday that is talking about kind of some different types of marketing involved with real estate investors and rather than the traditional ways of marketing, which are, you know, going down to the courthouse, getting a list, cold calling that list, mailing to that list. I'm putting up flyers basically saying like we buy houses, things like that. This guy teaches that pretty similar to, to like a Gary v, v Vaynerchuk. Oh my gosh. I don't know why that name so hard for me to say to Gary v what he teaches, which is just build your personal brand and then you can kind of sell whatever you want on the backside of that.

And that's a similar thing to what this guy is teaching. And I, I imagine it's less popular because it's a lot more hands on, meaning his big takeaway from what I can gather so far. It's just, you know, build your network and leverage your network. It's like what you would learn, you know, in college when I had a professional communications class, I had a professor that kind of mentored me when I was at Texas State University, a professor sue Stewart. She taught professional communication. Everybody thought she was like this hard ass and she was. But ultimately it was one of the most fruitful courses that I took because the things that she taught our exactly dead on. Just everything that you see, everything that works in even marketing, um, as much as big time marketers want to say college is unnecessary. Maybe the courses that they take for the most part are unnecessary.

But the things I learned in this course are the exact same things that they're teaching, meaning build a network of like-minded people. I'm not necessarily use people as a means to an end. You don't want to objectify people and just not be providing them any value, but connect with people that you can help and that they can help you provide them value as much value as you can. And then when something comes their way that fits your niche or, or an opportunity for you, they'll remember you and they'll reciprocate because they're part of your network and you guys are just kind of, you know, buddies that similar to what Jordan Stanley pain, that's the guy who's, who teaches the course I'm taking right now. I'm pretty much done with the course, but I'm still implementing everything. So I'll go back through the course several times. That's kind of how I do these courses.

Um, I'll watch the whole course and then I'll go back and rewatch this stuff that, the action steps that I need. So, so, you know, this is a bit scattered back to exactly what I'm doing. I'm, I'm maxing out my personal profile with 5,000 friends and then from there, every person who friend requests you after that, we'll get a notification that says this person has reached, you know, their friends limit, you can follow them, you've automatically followed them, so then you'll gain more followers and then you'll push people over to do whatever you want them to do, like join groups or whatever. So it kind of is hard. I say it's hard because people don't want to broadcast. I do facebook lives and stuff. It's hard enough to do facebook lives just to, even in a group or something like that. But when you're doing it on your personal profile page, you never run in your family seeing it.

Everybody went to high school with just all these people that really ultimately I'm don't care what you're doing anyway. So it just doesn't. That's how I feel about it. It used to be really hard for me to do a facebook live, but anyway, so now that I have, I don't know, I think I gained a thousand friends, quote unquote friends on facebook the last 24 hours. Um, and I'll try to again another thousand today and I'll just keep gaining until I hit that [inaudible] mark. I'm going to start putting out content every day. Obviously I do this podcast every day, but, uh, and that's kind of something that I do for personal branding, just telling my story of, of what I'm going through to build this business, but I'm also going to start building out facebook live trainings that are specific to these people that I'm friend requesting. So I'm not just sending out friend requests just Willy Nilly to anybody that will accept them.

I'm going to targeted groups of people like in my area. So what I, what I'm trying to do is build up a huge network of people kind of in the dfw area that are like-minded. And um, probably it'll be like half real estate people and the other half like online entrepreneurs because those are the two markets that I serve. And those are the two. Those are the two markets that I'm in. So I can leverage my network both ways. Meaning I could, um, connect with people that I can help. And then they're also, when I need, when I need something, when I have a question, these are the same type of people that I would be reaching out to to help me. So it works both ways. So you have to have some kind of strategy surrounding how you're implementing this. So it's not just about building 5,000 friends, just so it looks like you have 5,000 friends.

The point of it is that you have 5,000 people on there that when you speak about something, people are going to be interested. It's the same. It's the exact same reason why you'd have a facebook group. It's the exact same reason, except it's a lot easier to get people to accept a friend request than it is to get them to join a facebook group. Trust me, getting people to join the facebook is not all that easy. Um, it's a lot more work than this and yes, it's more targeted and it's great to get them in a facebook group. But, uh, this is, this is much easier. So I think this is a great first step to build up trust with them. And that's kind of the point is that they'll see you on a daily basis doing facebook live posts and things like that, and they'll see your personal branding so they won't be so, such cold traffic when they come to you, there'll be more targeted, there'll be warmed up a little bit.

Um, and it's just, it's just a great way to do it. Side note before we end this, but facebook chatbots, possibly going away for a little while. So glad I didn't put all my eggs in that basket, but facebook chatbots, as big as they were. Some people that facebook has, obviously everyone knows involved in some lawsuits right now. And Chat bots, if you don't have that already connected to your facebook page, you know, you can't connect it to a personal profile. But if you don't already have it connected to your page, um, I don't think facebook is letting you connect new chat bots at this point. So don't disconnect your face, your facebook chat Bot a just side note. Either way, chatbots, I'm sure there'll be back, but they're going to regulate them heavily. Um, just because it's causing a lot of issues, there's a lot of issues with the facebook right now as far as th, they, they need to clean up their image when it comes to personal information.

And I think chat bots are, some people are thinking that they're a little bit intrusive, so didn't, didn't really see that coming, but that's the reason that you always build an email list and these people that you, that you see online that are just saying email is dead. Chatbots are so much better. Yes, chatbots were so much better. But now how's your Chat Bot looking as your business that's built on chatbots looking. If a, you can't use a chat bot and you haven't gathered any emails, so you're, you're promoting is going to be much, much harder. So email marketing, still the king for sure. Either way, everybody have a great Wednesday. I know I'm going to. I'm building out my friends to 5,000 people. I suggest you do the same. Get over the Hump, get over your fear of um, leveraging your personal facebook profile in order to build your business.

Because that's the only thing that you're really going to have control over and that's one of the things that this chat Bot situation shows you is that a professional pages, great, but facebook probably isn't going to come in and metal with your personal profile, so forget about, you know, just you're doing friendly networking. I'm on your facebook page and started thinking about it as a professional tool because that's really the only thing that you have complete control over. Hey guys, thank you so much for listening. I really, really appreciate everybody tuning in and all the great feedback I'm getting about the podcast, so I'm going to keep
