I recently read a story about the worst roommate ever: a Craigslist nightmare. This man manipulated his way into someone’s home by giving a false identity, then refused to leave. He didn’t pay rent. He didn’t clean up after himself. And worst of all, he eventually took over and forced the owner to leave. That kinda sounds like what the Apostle Paul wrote about in Romans Chapter 7. We have an indwelling presence that is manipulative and sinister, seeks to enslave us, and refuses to leave. And worst of all, many Christians aren’t fully aware of it and therefore don’t know how to respond. That’s why Paul wrote Romans 7. It’s an expose on indwelling sin. What do we do about it?
