Whilst the global economy is on the horizon, it seems that that most countries don’t have infrastructure and programs to support skilled or highly educated and experienced people from abroad. Why do we still demand and insist on “local experience” in a global world?
We are talking about challenges that skilled migrants experience in a new county. It has become clear that the 21 Century is an era of unprecedented human mobility that has been markedly urban as migrants, both internal and international, move to cities and urban areas, bring diversity and connect communities within and across borders to create new linkages among localities. This calls for new urban governance, migration policies and mindset change from employers.
In this episode we will start by talking about some challenges facing skilled migrants and touch on benefits of what they may bring to a new country.
