Spiritual Formation - the process of being “conformed” to the image of Christ within the community of Christ and the trajectory of Christ for the sake of others!
We are “conformed” We don’t form ourselves, we receive who we are from God & what we are becoming comes from God! Conformed -(to give the same shape, outline, or contour to : bring into harmony or accord) THEREFORE The believer is daily being conformed into the image of Christ.
DID YOU KNOW? You can flush your thought with truth!
Verse 8 in the mirror study bible says it this way “But now, because you realize that you co-died and were co-raised together with Christ, you can flush your thoughts with truth! Permanently puth these things behind you: things such as violent outbursts of rage, depression, all manner of wickedness, slander and every form of irregular conversation”
*The lifelong association you have with sin is broken; the dominion of the character of God is revealed again in ordinary life.
*In other words we should be reminded of God’s character by what we see & experience on the day to day!
(Romans 1:19&20 Paul said the invisible attributes of God is found in the all that He has created visible!!)
One tool that can help us with being reminded of God’s character through our everyday life experiences are “liturgies”
A Liturgy is a repetitive pattern of worship.With the goal being that the pattern draws us into worship and conforms us into the image of the one who we worship.
VERY IMPORTANT: THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE A WORKS-BASED LEGALISTIC ENDEAVOR, IT’S A GRACE BASED BEAUTIFUL ONE!
A GOD THING BECOMES LEGALISTIC WHEN YOU FOCUS ON THE METHOD AND LOSE SIGHT OF THE SAVIOR!
WE MUST CHOOSE TO SEE THE CHARACTER OF GOD REVEALED IN ORDINARY LIFE!
A lot of times we blame the devil for all of our woes, circumstances & hold-ups! However, The apostle Paul said in Galatians 5:17 "When your self-life craves the things that offend the Holy Spirit you hinder him from living free within you! And the Holy Spirit’s intense cravings hinder your self-life from dominating you! So then, the two incompatible and conflicting forces within you are your self-life of the flesh and the new creation life of the Spirit."
So our carnal behaviors is the very conduct that hinders the Holy Spirit from living FREELY within you! And because the behaviors of the spirit are rooted in truth, then the behaviors of the flesh are rooted in lies about God, ourselves, and others! What lie about God, yourself, or someone else does sin have you believing? Listen in as we break all this down and more!
Naturally we all take on assignments, projects, mandates, etc. and once were in them the feeling of “I’m not fully equipped for this begins to rise up within us”
The worst is when we see others doing the same thing as us but their results are better than ours. Which causes to believe the lie of I can’t do this This must not be my calling This must not be what I was created for I’m wasting my life at this job I’m wasting my life living in this town I’m wasting my life serving at this little church I’m wasting my life bc i’m not married or bc i don’t have kids or bc i don’t have someone to come home to, ETC
IF SATAN IS TELLING YOU ALL THOSE THINGS- WHAT DO YOU THINK GOD IS SAYING?! Acts 1:2-9 Verse 8 8But I promise you this—the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and you will be seized with power. You will be my messengers to Jerusalem, throughout Judea, the distant provinces —even to the remotest places on earth!”
Power- in the greek - Dynamis(doo’-nam-is) it’s where we get the word dynamite Power, ability physical or moral as residing in a person or thing “In Him we live and move….” Power in action as in performing miracles! THAT IS THE TYPE OF POWER GIVEN TO EVERY BELIEVER! THE HOLY SPIRIT IS EQUIPPING YOU WITH POWER TO LIVE AND MOVE AND FUNCTION AND THAT SAME SPIRIT OF GOD EQUIPS YOU TO DO THE SAME THINGS JESUS DID ON THE EARTH WHICH ONE OF THOSE THINGS IS PERFORM MIRACLES TO SHOW THE GLORY OF GOD. LET THAT MARINATE!
Verse 8 Jesus said you will have power to be my messengers. Moses didn’t represent God without signs and wonders Elijah and Elisha didn’t point to God without signs and wonders Jesus didn’t just speak the words of God He performed miracles as well.
THE HOLY SPIRIT EQUIPS YOU TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL THROUGH YOUR SPEECH, THROUGH SIGNS AND WONDERS & THROUGH THE WAY YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE AND SO MUCH MORE.......
For Yahweh is always good and ready to receive you.He’s so loving that it will amaze you—so kind that it will astound you!And he is famous for his faithfulness toward all.Everyone knows our God can be trusted,for he keeps his promises to every generation!
Before you can go and do the great commission, you first have to believe in the right commissionDo we want people to come to church or do we want people to come to know Christ? It's not one or the other, but really one is the seed and the other is the fruit.According to Jesus in verse 47 what are we to be preaching “repentance & forgiveness of sins” The English word "re-pent" is unfortunately an intentional misrepresentation of the Greek word used in Scripture, which is "metanoia". Metanoia literally means to "re-think" or "to change one's mind." It does not meanThe modern Church here in America has this idea that "repent" means to:1 - Tell God that you sinned2 - Tell God that you are sorry for that sin3 - Ask God to forgive you of that sin4 - Promise to never do that sin again5 - go down to an altar in a church and do all of these things while crying, wailing, and beating your chest,*And a person can and do it all sincerely, and yet NEVER actually repent. SELAHUnfortunately, the prevailing Church of the time intentionally inserted "re-pent" in place of "re-think" because of their emphasis on penance (doing works to merit/earn God's favor instead of depending on Jesus' blood and Finished Work).In other words, they were saying "re-penance"; to do penance again. Of course, this also gave the Church control over people as it kept them coming back to the Church b/c it was the Church that functioned as the mediator between God and, once again, instead of Jesus. So, you had to come to the Church who would assign your re-penance.The Church as a whole here in America desperately needs to repent of this false repentance because it keeps God's people in total bondage. So, groveling in the dirt and going through this list of Protestant penance isn't something one must do to "get right with God" or to "get back into right standing with God." Authentic metanoia is when we stop believing the lie(s) that are keeping us in bondage and turn to God's truth that sets us free. Authentic metanoia is to rethink, to change one's mind, to believe like God, to agree with His opinion, to turn from error to truth, etc.
The assumption is that he’s a bad disciple bc he refused to believe Jesus had risen from the dead. Thomas wasn't being combative on purpose, think about all that he witnessedThe miracle at the wedding, raising a girl from the dead, raising his cousin from the dead, Feeding 5,000 men, women and children with a lunchable, Standing up and at times calling out the pharisees and other leaders, Walking on water, Telling an entire storm to be quiet and be stillBUT ALL THAT BELIEF CAME CRASHING DOWN WHEN HE WITNESSED JESUS’ DEATH! HAVE YOU EVER HAD THERE HEART BROKEN BEFORE?Have you ever had your peace, or joy taken from you?When that happens often times it may feel like you’re left publicly exposed and defenseless!And as a human being our first thought when that happens is to cover our own selves with whatever we see or whatever is within our own reach!SOUND FAMILIAR?! ADAM & EVE USED FIG LEAVESPETER USED FISHINGAND THOMAS IS USING A COLD-HARD FACTS! HE’S USING SCIENCE AND ANATOMY TO HIDE HIS BROKEN HEART AND LOST OF FAITH IN JESUS!!!!WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN USING OR ARE CURRENTLY USING TO TRY AND COVER UP PAIN, REGRET, REMORSE, GRIEF, GUILT,SHAME, UNNATURAL DESIRES, ADDICTION, FEAR, ANGER, BITTERNESS, TRAUMA, DRAMA, JEALOUSY
Palm Sunday is a day celebrated in Christianity in remembrance of Jesus’ triumphant return to Jerusalem. The original event took place at the start of a week where he would be arrested, tried in an illegal hearing, and crucified. Jesus would then resurrect in Christianity’s most important moment. Without the Resurrection, there is no Christianity. The event is mentioned in all four Gospels
In this Sunday morning message, we look at The prophet Daniel and how his life paints a picture of Christ. The book of Daniel is proof that Jesus is with you in the midst of suffering.We don’t serve a God that is like a coach yelling from the sideline.God does not rescue us by yelling directions down from heaven NOPE Jesus gets in the fire with us. Jesus Climbs in the darkest den of life’s lions with us and keeps us from being devoured!
If your faith is in Jesus Christ, then His love should be the only thing that defines you! Not your ethnicity, education, lineage, last name, 401k, children, house, cars, clothes, or spouse.

This year God wants to take this collective from water to wine! However Jesus will not pour new wine into old wineskins! Old wine and New wine represent two types of mindsets. Old wine:Old wine is a religious system that manages your personal behavior and your performance. The wineskin or container for old wine is religion! New wine is Forgiveness, Freedom from condemnation for those that are IN Christ Jesus, and Restored innocence and union with our Bridegroom!You can pray for the new wine all you want, but until you shed the old wineskin, you won't see any positive change.

At the core, Halloween is a pagan holiday. Remember this, Halloween wasn’t around in the times that the bible was being written, that’s why there is no one clear verse that says “thou shall not celebrate Halloween” and that is why there is no truthful black and white answer. HOWEVER There is a path laid out to help every believer navigate through in Halloween. In this message we introduce some practices in regards to How Jesus Followers should behave and conduct themselves on October 31st.
"If we as followers of Jesus Christ are not making disciples, then we're not advancing the kingdom of God. If we're not advancing His kingdom, THEN WHAT ARE WE EVEN DOING?!"
Jesus's idea of discipleship is unfortunately miles apart from what The Western Church teaches and practices. Dive deep with us in our series called "Harvest!"
In this message we learn about Photini, the difference between the writer and the elephant. And how Jesus model's internally & externally the way we should see and treat EVERYONE. Regardless of race, color, religion, denomination, gender, sexual & pronoun preferences, etc. Jesus leads by example with both feet forward and arms stretched wide! In this message you'll receive spiritual practices to help enable you to have a heart of compassion and see creation with unbiased eyes.
Harvest means the season when ripened crops are gathered aka the gathering of crops. In Matthew 9:37 “(Jesus)He turned to his disciples and said, “The harvest is huge and ripe! But there are not enough harvesters to bring it all in.”” How did He know? How did Jesus know that the harvest was ripe. See it was obvious that the harvest was huge bc the evidence for that was visible. But ripe, how did He know? Listen to this message to discover the answer to that question, and be reaffirmed in beloved identity!
This message is a continuation of last week's deep dive into 2 Corinthians 3:18. Every person that places their trust and confidence in Jesus, is also empowered by The Power of The Holy Spirit to live this life! What all does your life entail? The Holy Spirit can empower you to carryout all that your life entails daily, weekly, annually, etc. while transforming you by renewing the thoughts in your mind. All while you go from glory to glory to glory to glory!
A mirror serves one purpose and that is to reflect the image in front of it! If you have made the decision to follow Jesus then you are called to reflect the glory of God wherever you do life! Listen to the full sermon to learn more!
Too many times we buy into the illusions that we are like a ship lost at sea. We allow that narrative to be painted by the coming and going of friends and loved ones, the rise and fall of gas prices, the rumors and opinions of our peers, hunger, emotions, trials and tribulations, etc. We are not separate from the perichoresis fellowship of the Trinity and the love that flows within that! This is our final installment in our Pneumatology series! We explore what Luke, Paul, and Jude(not John. In the fast cadence of the message I mistakenly said John was the author of the book of Jude when I meant to credit Jude, but I fully believe Jude wrote the book of Jude.) However with that being said in a world where division is at an all time high, and illusions are so real that it's hard to distinguish what's real and what's fake. Jude advises us that we can fortify our firm persuasion by building ourselves up on our most holy faith through praying in The Spirit!
In this message we explore how the Holy Spirit enables us to be Sons and Daughters of God!
Bc of Jesus choosing to undo what Adam did. We have been brought back into the circle dance of the Father, Son, & Spirit. This fellowship is gonna require some unlearning on our part. Check out this message on how Jesus leads us through the unlearning of traditions and religion in order to reconstruct the correct image of The Father, Son, & Spirit.

We as mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, employees, employers, young, mature, amateurs, and experts, as human beings WE ALL LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE TRIGGERS EXIST! Jesus and His disciples were not exempt from triggers, they faced them head on as well. This episode takes a deep dive on a couple of relatable triggers the Messiah and two of His followers faced in order for us to know how to respond the right way when life activates/triggers us.
