Just as we value and defend our personal freedoms we need to guard our spiritual freedoms in Christ as well.  The good news of the Gospel message is that we have been set free to live by the power of Christ. Set free from the law of sin and death and given a new life to be lived by faith through His glorious grace.  Though many are completely unaware of this because of a mixture of law and grace has been taught in churches.  So, now, Paul deals with legalism and mysticism and asking the question, why? Why go back when you have died with Christ?  The believer has freedom, true freedom, that many will make you question and doubt by offering up what they have to add to God's Grace, only to negate it and move you back to where you were before being made complete.
