People leave Facebook, stop watching television and eat a lot of fish.  Why? Because it is the Lenten season.  Forty days of preparation for Easter and remembering the forty days in the wilderness that Jesus spent.  It's not just a Catholic thing, many Christians commit Lent.  So what's the history?  Are we commanded to observe Lent?  Are you more spiritual if you do or you don't?  It's probably no surprise that Marcuss does not commit Lent so don't make him feel bad and he will let you eat your fish.
