Matthew 7 is used out of context so much.  Seriously, it drives me crazy sometimes.  Jesus is speaking to Jews under The Law, people who believed in works.  He's also speaking about false prophets and disciples.  In other words, He isn't speaking to Christians or about Christians.  Jesus would be a liar to tell a real Christan that 'He never knew them'.  Remember, a text without a context is just a con.
