KVI's John Carlson interviews Sammamish WA mayor, Christine Malchow, about the growing concerns of public safety at a rental house allegedly inhabited by squatters. The rental home was the site of an injury 9 days ago of a King County Sheriff's deputy who had responded to the house in connection with a report of stolen property. Malchow explains to KVI how King County Executive Dow Constantine's vaccine mandates last year prompted firings of deputies and reduced staffing that could have provided for more deputies to be available to respond to stolen property suspicions like the ones connected to the undocumented inhabitants of this rental home located near a day care and an elementary school.
