Sam Moinet, Founder of Student Breakthrough and Polly Downes ACC Resident Coach, specialising in coaching parents and families, join Barry Ennis PCC to share ideas and insights on working from home while home schooling. Since the government took the unprecedented steps to close schools for the majority of children, parents and families have rapidly risen to the challenge of home schooling our young. Now, as we approach a warm Easter break and continued lockdown measures in place, should we down tools and eat chocolate or try to catch up with the curriculum? And are ‘life lessons’ more important now than ‘maths lessons’? As a former teacher Sam witnessed many challenges that young people face and has set up Student Breakthrough to support them. And as Mamma of 3 secondary school kids Polly is currently navigating the home school curriculum. Our format is simple, we take 3 topics and share our insights. We’re not experts. We have the same amount of clues as you, but have experiences and ideas that we will share honestly and with a positive and practical focus. So today we are going to look at: SCHEDULE, CURRICULUM and MENTAL HEALTH.
