Free will is a necessary part of humanity and life. Determinism (fate) is self-defeating.

  1. The human brain is dynamic, plastic, and fluid. There is no biological determinism.
  2. The ability to reason is grounded in free will. If we have no free will, we cannot and do not think.
  3. Without free will there is no such thing as science. Science requires assessing observations, weighing data, filtering information, and drawing conclusions. Without free will, this process is an illusion.
  4. It's impossible to believe in determinism for rational reasons.
  5. The characteristics that most make us human (love, forgiveness, kindness, mercy, grace, and justice) require free will.
  6. God's omniscience has no impact on my freedom to choose. Knowledge is not causative.
