Atheism requires more faith than Christianity because there are fewer evidences for atheism than there are for theism.
- There is no evidence of any kind that the universe is a closed system and that the existence of a deity or interference by a deity is scientifically impossible. Atheists just believe it.
- There is no evidence of the transitional life forms required to make unguided evolution possible. Atheists just believe it, filling in all the blanks even though science doesn't and can't.
- There's no evidence that purpose can derive from random processes. Christians reason that purpose comes from a purposeful source. Atheists just believe it.
- There's no evidence that meaning can derive from matter + time + chance. Atheists just believe it.
- There's no evidence that informational data can come from anything other that informational data. We have no example of any informational data that spontaneously generates. Christians reason that informational data came from an intelligent source. Atheists just believe that somehow it happened, with no evidence to substantiate it.
- There is no evidence that personality arose from the impersonal—that chemicals and blind forces yielded consciousness and personality. Christians reasons that personality came from a personal source. Atheists just believe it came about all by itself.
- There isn't even any evidence that reason could arise from other than an intelligent source. If we are the result of chemicals + blind forces + matter + time + chance, I really can't believe the workings of my mind (or anyone else's), because it all came about by random combinations, and is still random combinations (because that's all that's in the system). Therefore, I can't necessarily trust any of it to be giving me what I would consider to be reason, or even further, truth. Atheists just believe it.
Atheists have bigger gaps in knowledge than theists do, they make more leaps of faith, and take stock in less-well-supported positions.
