1. Nothing material can explain its own existence. It is either self-existent or was caused.
  2. Nothing cannot produce something. Since there is something rather than nothing, there was a cause for the universe.
  3. Therefore nature and the universe are not self-existent but were caused by something else.
  4. The universe, then, had to have been caused by something outside of itself that is self-existent.
  5. That self-existent entity must, therefore, be eternal, timeless, personal, powerful, and intelligent.

Therefore God is the source of the universe, and he is uncreated. In other words, God is self-existent and has always existed. He didn't have an origin.
