Incubators Ain't for Chickens!
Well Barbara Hayde is no chicken.
She's the President of The Entrepreneur's Center, a tech incubator in Dayton, OH. A series of adventures led her to this job. And at first she was real reluctant to take it ... until she had a light bulb moment while driving in her car one day. Her reluctance was based on fear - the fear of failing as other incubators had before. But it didn't fail. The Entrepreneur's Center was the first building in an area known as Tech Town in downtown Dayton.
She started off as a 3rd grade teacher. But that wasn't her deal. So she launched a business, even though she swore she never would. Because she's been willing to take on assignments even when she felt out of her comfort zone, she's been able to sample a potpourri of opportunities in her career.
What are some great take-aways from my conversation with Barbara?
Don't be afraid to leave your comfort zone to seek opportunities
An idea has no value until it meets someone that knows how to make money with it
