There are numerous examples where we see God gives direct commands to Joshua and the Israelites that they are to wipe out the people of the land they are taking. How do we process commands like this in light of God's goodness? In light of His mercy? In light of His love? John's disciples have a question for Jesus and He gives them a two-fold answer: Rejoice while He's here, and that He's bringing something new.
We look at Matthew's testimony, and how it's really not about him, but it's about Jesus.
Today, we talk about the subject on if the gospel accounts (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) discredit one another by being different, and we also talk about the most important reason Jesus came.
We've seen three miracles where Jesus healed people, but here He calms the sea. Jesus not only has power of illness and disease, but He also has power over nature. There is no one like Jesus.
Matthew has showed us three different miracles, and now he is showing us the cost of following Christ. Following Jesus is not easy, but when we do follow Him, we experience all that He has to offer.
Today we look at the impact that Jesus immediately makes in our life, and also how Matthew is still showing us that Jesus is who the Old Testament has been pointing to.
Aren't you grateful that Jesus doesn't just say a lot of things, but He changes circumstances. He changes situations. He changes lives. There's power in following Christ.

Steve Strickland and Justin try to think about what the disciples must have been feeling throughout Jesus washing their feet, Judas betraying Jesus, the Lord's Supper, Jesus predicting Peter's denial, and Jesus being handed over.
