Let’s look at what it means to have it all together. Many people think that because they are a coach, they need to be perfect in their lives. While you do need to have some measure of success and experience in the skills you are teaching, you don’t have to be the best. Instead of striving for that picture of perfection, let’s look at changing the goal from ‘having it all together’ to ‘trading up to have better problems.’ Look at the challenges you are dealing with and consider what would be the better version of that problem.
In today’s episode, I look at the concept of having it all together and why those that are good at something are not necessarily good at teaching others how to achieve the same success. I discuss the misconception of needing a perfect life as a coach and why striving for an ideal life is not always the right endeavor. I also share how challenges help you move on to the next level and how you can look at your existing challenges and work towards better problems.
“We should never be aiming to have a problem-free life or a challenge-free life; the goal is to trade up to better problems.” - Jos Willard
