Depending on your thinking, 2020 has either been the death of networking, has put it on hold and will make a comeback, or it has changed forever and we will be doing it in new ways from now on. However, whether you have been networking online or in person, it has been dead for a long time. What I mean is, it doesn't work anymore - at least not like you think it does. Whether the concept of networking fills you with dread or, for the extroverts out there, you get excited about reaching out to new people; networking is a valuable tool in many ways - when it's done right.
Today, I discuss the concept of networking and how the traditional aspects of it no longer apply. I reveal the problem with networking and how people use the wrong types of networking activities to try and secure new business. I share how you can change your thinking around building new connections and redefining networking to make you better at it. I highlight how you can identify the best people to add to your network and how you can use a strategic approach to build a network that will enhance your business.
“Networking is about strengthening existing relationships that you have with people that you know that could be strategically beneficial to your business in some way.” - Jos Willard
