Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation. - Isaiah 12:2

This promise begins with the word “behold.” We don’t use that word much these days. In the Old Testament, it was used to express the wonder of a new experience. If we were to use today’s language for this verse is would sound something like this. “Look! Can you believe this? God is my salvation. I trust Him, so I’m not afraid.”

We live in a fearful world. Every day we are bombarded with images and news that fill us with fear and dread. From global warming to threats of terrorism, our screens are a constant source of bad news. If you are not careful, fear can take root in your heart.

As a follower of Christ, you live above fear. Your God is your salvation, so there is no place for fear. If God is on your side, what could you possibly fear?
