A record-shattering 234,088 migrants were encountered along the southern border for the month of April; that, according to DHS court filings, making it the highest monthly tally ever reported by the feds, easily outpacing last month's 221,303 record. It more than doubles 2019's figure, and CBP data shows it's a more than 357% increase from April 2018 (when 51,168 encounters were reported.) In addition, close to 118,000 migrants were released into the US for the month of April, while another 113,248 were removed. Close to 97,000 of those were Title 42 expulsions, which are scheduled to end next week. When you include April's numbers, there have been close to 1.3mil migrant encounters along the southern border for the first 7 months of FY22. We know what the problem is. What can we do about it?
