InstagramWar of Whispers Book Series by J.E. Lowder

  1. Genesis 4:2-8
    1. It is absolutely incredible how profound and short this event is!
    2. What is the key lesson/aspect about God’s character from this infamous encounter between two brothers and God?
      1. I think it would be rather easy to sum this story up with Hebrews 11:4 and Romans 14:23 (which may be a topic for another time, but I am not so sure it directly applies).
      2. This story is so much deeper than, “oh well Cain sinned, Abel didn’t, if Cain just offered a better sacrifice all would be good”.
    3. My takeaway from this entire account is V.7!
      1. It’s interesting to note that God didn’t punish Cain, he didn’t rebuke until after Cain’s anger sept in.
      2. This passage, in my opinion, offers insights into the battle between sin and man versus displeasing God with maybe a half-hearted offering.
    4. Luke 15
      1. With the return of the prodigal son and the oldest’s reaction is anger (Luke 15:28).
    5. War of the Whispers
      1. James 4:7-8
      2. 1 Peter 5:8
