SERMON NOTES — Sunday, October 25, 2020 NO TURNING BACK: “Collaboration (OwnerSHIP)” Exodus 17-18 // Ecclesiastes 4 // Romans 12 NIV

Exodus 17:12 NIV 12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.

Exodus 18:17-19 NIV 17 Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good. 18 You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone. 19 Listen now to me and I will give you some advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people’s representative before God and bring their disputes to him.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NIV 9 Two are better than one,because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down,one can help the other up.But pity anyone who fallsand has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered,two can defend themselves.A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Romans 12:4-6 NIV 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;

1 Corinthians 12:12 NIV 12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.

The 4 C’s: Connection — Collaboration — Commission — Celebration The 4 SHIP’s: RelationSHIP — OwnerSHIP — PartnerSHIP — WorSHIP

“Church is a covenant community of Christ followers… committed to connection within the context of our Creator."

“When a church can create a culture of collaboration, it compounds the capabilities of the entire congregation.”

“Co-laborers shoulder the burdens of life together.” “Co-laborers struggle through the battles of life together.” “Co-laborers share the blessings of life together.”

“Where do you need to stop, collaborate, and listen?”

Ephesians 4:15-16 NIV 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
