Suzanne Jones & Alexia Georghiou converse about communication techniques that will heal our nation. Interesting collaboration among two women who think very differently about some politics and religious views. What we have in common is virtues of respect, gratitude, & humility. This is what matters most! We can never change one another's minds on topics. We can empathize, listen and help meet one another's needs of validation through listening. We all need to be and feel heard. This will heal the divide.

Everyone needs understanding of AI: Artificial Intelligence. What is it? How does it affect me? What are the privacy and bias concerns for citizens around the world? No person, organization or government is exempt from the coming impact. We need education to ensure humane ethics are followed as AI is implemented. There are limited laws regulating this area of life, and the implications of this is dire. Who is responsible to ensure AI is implemented with fairness? Every single one of us!

This book has been written by Alexia Georghiou who brings 25 years of experience & expertise with medical ethics through her work in community mental health & social work. Alexia has served as a HIPAA Privacy Officer and has specific training in Bias. She recently completed the course, ‘AI for Everyone,’ on Coursera, gaining understanding of Artificial Intelligence. Her book combines the ethics of her profession as a counselor and social worker, challenging the reader to think about ethics with AI. All of the frailty of humanity with our conflict, & bias has given artificial intelligence data through our history. This has resulted in an already flawed system.

Fairness is the ultimate end game for the integration of AI with human beings. We are in charge and have a voice. It’s important for each of us, within our realm of influence, to create positive change. If you have never felt oppression, being marginalized, under suspicion, or treated unfairly; begin to ask others what their experiences have been. Our story needs to be told by us. AI is gathering, & analyzing data, with output into the system. This system is scoring us. What is the story it tells? What are the implications of this scoring for our rights and privileges?

We need to advocate for our data to no longer be sold without our knowledge or permission. Laws need to be created to regulate what tech companies can and cannot do. We do not understand what is happening. Hopefully this book has opened your eyes to begin to comprehend the importance of AI.

Let’s use our voice for a collective good. We have fought long enough with each other. What matters is for our future to be fair for all. This artificial intelligence that few comprehend is the vehicle for our future. We need to be proactive in our implementation of practices that are equitable in nature.

Listening to hear is a skills building course that will improve connection with ourselves & others. This book is your map of success with communication.Visit sections frequently to repeat the exercises. Your effort will be recognized as you intentionally listen as others share. We are emotional, intuitive beings when we tune in. Let's not fear the intensity of emotions, learning to regulate them.Stop thoughts from entering, that would navigate us to distractions. Keep focus on what is being said verbally & non-verbally. When there is incongruence in the two, look to the non-verbal communication for keys to what the person is really saying.Let it go if you cannot control it, doing what you can with what is within your control.Listen for the other person's perspective & feelings, validating them even if you do not understand what they are experiencing.Avoid giving advice, instead asking open ended questions.Ask for clarification when something offends you, listening for insight.BE & Become a great listener.

WELCOME

The material is from The Resilient Pathway's Life Coaching Program developed by Alexia Georghiou!

My background includes 25 years as a mental health counselor and I bring what has helped me develop a speaking career. As an introvert who was terrified to speak in front of people, I have learned to consistently practice brain exercises that I introduce you to. The most profound and impactful truths can be simple. Research shows when practiced over time, brain health will improve, naturally helping us think more clearly. Also this will prepare you for when the unexpected happens, to remain calm & composed.

Each section is designed for you to review over and over again as you prepare to speak. We do not step in the same river twice, as it flows continuously and we change every time our story is told. There are seasons to study, practice, improve the technical details and network. We give a general overview of each topic with helpful resources to go deeper with what you need in the moment.

Due to the pandemic, we have experienced forced solitude. This is an ideal time to start the morning pages, in order to channel the solitude. The workbook, ‘The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity,’ contains 10 tasks at the end of each chapter, among a total of 12 chapters. Completing the tasks creates optimism and this is what we need daily during our current pandemic situation. We need a sense of structure, otherwise we will be left with time and solitude. Establishing a daily routine around morning pages, and a weekly artist date, gives us a sense of benevolence. These tools will help us reach higher creativity & spirituality as the two go hand and glove. Order the book today! We will be announcing our collaborative efforts to experience this pathway together virtually worldwide.
