Melanie is a journalist, gardener, chicken mom and self-identified Trinidadian Shit Mix. In our conversation we hear about how perceptions of her race have changed throughout her life as she’s moved throughout spaces and places, including a relocation from Trinidad to the suburbs of Vancouver at 11 years old.
