Society teaches, intentional or not, that how important you are and what you are worth is dependent on how many dollar your ATM receipt says. I will not argue that money does help but I will argue on how much it helps. It is difficult to quantify peace, joy and happiness therefore we do not make the attempt and just default to dollars.
