Shadow entities have recently risen to prominence in the paranormal community. However, despite the fact that they have been a phenomena since antiquity, it is only in recent decades that they have been referred to as "shadow beings."
Diverse names for them, as well as various forms of shadowy creatures and dark beings, were presumably seen in different societies throughout history.
