We all come under lots of influence in our life. We are influenced by friends, addictions, careers, parents and circumstances. When we encounter Jesus everything changes.

If we are not careful we adopt and buy into the beliefs of the world. Living for the Kingdom of God is not the same as living under those other influences. We need to be influenced by the Spirit not the world.

To be influenced by the Holy Spirit you need to listen to his voice. What you spend your time on will create an influence. We live in a world that is desperate for our attention. There are lots of voices trying to get our attention so that they can influence. Creating a space for God to influence has to be intentional.
