When Jesus called out to Mary by her name at the Garden Tomb, Mary recognized his voice. Her first reaction was to touch Jesus, and Jesus said, “Touch me not.” In Greek that means “Don’t cling to me.” Jesus knew his followers had to get into the mindset of not having him around physically, so that they could touch him spiritually on the Day of Pentecost.
