I want to inspire you to develop a personal practice through these meaningful conversations and through diving into and exploring these ancient teachings of Yoga. I want to share these simple practices so all beings may benefit ❤️
Where we put our attention our energy flows. We can decide what we want to connect to. Our devices? Social media? Our loved ones? Our own bodies?
Start to notice what you are connecting to on a daily basis and recognize which of those places are giving you back a feeling of joy or nourishment.
Get clear about what you want to pour your energy into and focus there.

Although this may be a bit counter-intuitive, you will get more agile the less you push and pull your body.
We are programmed to think striving and straining makes us flexible and strong, but I believe it actually causes more harm than good.
This week in my online community we were getting really clear about how it feels to push and pull versus rest and receive.
Check out this video to see what that looks like on the mat.
Or read my Blog Post to dive deeper into this topic.
Or reach out and I would be happy to give you an experience of what this feels like in YOUR body! Book a Call.
In this episode I discuss patience as a quality we can practice in life and on the mat. It seems not many of us find patience the easiest quality to practice.

Within our online community this week we were exploring Trust. Our practice gives us a chance to explore trust in our bodies.
When we practice allowing there is a sense of ease and relaxation. This week we explored the importance of reconnecting with oneself and listening to one's intuition to rediscover truth within.
This is an invitation to re-establish connection to Self.

Dr. Jessica, a passionate relationship coach for powerful men in tech, had to go deep in this work herself - after years of feeling stuck in her head, anxious about relating, and having terrible sex. After her undergrad from MIT, Jessica spent 10 years working in lab as an organic chemist and neuroscientist - completing both her PhD and postdoctoral fellowship. Objectivity reigned and subjective embodied experience was laughed at. After experimenting with sexuality and alternative relationships in underground communities in San Francisco and at Burning Man, she decided there was more to life than pipettes and left her career to travel and say 'yes' to what scared her.She spent 4+ years in tantric and spiritual communities in Asia, studying shadow work, kundalini, meditation, tantric metaphysics, and more. After a decade in this new field, Jessica founded Bliss Science, where she uses the lens of non-dual tantra as the foundation of her healing approach.Dr. Jessica offers 1:1 and group programs for powerful men in tech - whether single or in partnership - and couples. She has helped hundreds of clients recover from shame and master the art of relating to women, creating the passionate relationship of their dreams. Jessica is certified by the ICF (PCC level), in Tantra, Relationships, and Men's Sexuality by VITA Coaching, in Process-Oriented Psychology by David Bedrick, in Emotional Mastery by Jenny Hale, and as a Sensual Arts Facilitator. Her teachers also include John Wineland, Kendra Cunov, Christopher Wallis, and Paul Muller-Ortega.She dares you to believe that sex and relating deserve to be given at least as much time as working out or developing your latest AI app.

In this episode I download an exercise in tracking our habits. This exercise is an opportunity to fine tune how we are spending our most precious resource : TIME!
I did the exercise myself and realized I was using housework as a habit to avoid creating content.
I also realized recording this it was a way of self sabotaging my bigger dreams and goals.
If you take the challenge you will find your own habits (good and bad) and be able to make better choices about how you actually want to spend your time.

In this episode I had the pleasure to chat with a dear old friend of mine who consistently follows her heart and ends up having the most wonderful adventures. She has always been an inspiration for me because I have watched her over the years jump into something completely new (again and again) and create the most amazing experiences for herself and her children. She isn't scared to try something new. She doesn't hesitate to follow a creative impulse. And here in this episode she talks about her life and will inspire you too!
Thanks Octavia and to you listeners for pursuing the Path with heart!
In this episode I speak with Anita Roy who has inspired me to speak my truth. She is a beautiful, intelligent and interesting soul who shares with us a bit about her story. She has chosen to live life on her own terms and will inspire you to step outside of what is expected of us. Her bravery and courage is contagious.
It was my pleasure to host Joan Randolph to tell her story of health and healing. She declined chemotherapy after her surgery and is alive and thriving and here to tell her story. She inspires us to ask questions. She shows us how it is possible to choose. She is proof that it is possible to follow your heart and we are capable of carving our own path. I wanted to share her story to inspire others to take responsibility for their own health and to question recommended healthcare treatments. This episode is NOT to say healthcare treatments are good or bad, just to say... we have a choice. Our health and our bodies are ours to manage and no one should feel there is only one option. We are powerful beings with the ability to heal. I hope Joan's story will empower you and inspire you to think about how you want to manage and handle your own health struggles.
In this episode my dear friend Halima Rogers and I discuss simple things we can do to help ourselves transition into fall.

It was my pleasure to talk to Jason Petrunik and get to know him a little better. He is a former radio announcer of 17 years and I was attracted to speak with him because I caught wind of him online and he was speaking courageously about how none of what is going on in the world makes any sense.
I wanted to know how he got started with his own Podcasts and why he felt like he needed to speak up and out about freedom of speech.
If you are interested in being a part of unifying humans, have a listen and do your part in building bridges between us instead of creating more divide.
Our take away was to look inside, and challenge yourself to listen to others who feel and think differently than you do.

This is a long, candid conversation between two strangers.
My guest Michael Berg shares with me how he sees the world, and lets me share with him how I see it. We realize through our discussion that we have some fundamental differences of opinion, but we also found some things we could agree on.
I appreciated the respect and engagement Michael brought to the table.
I think this conversation points to ways that we all get stuck in our stories, and if we choose, how we can still grow in love and understanding.
This conversation, I felt was definitely more productive than any conversation we could have had on Facebook. I believe it is important for us as humans to continue to nourish our ability to meet in a conversation. I believe if we had met in person, the conversation would have even held more connection and depth and understanding.
I hope those of you who listen to this conversation continue to keep your hearts and minds up to one another.

It was my pleasure to chat with Dave about his walnuts and this technique of dry farming. Have a listen and catch these other sweet moments where you hear the care he feels about his employees. Touched my heart of course because my family is from Mexico.
We just touch the surface of these conversations about agriculture practices but we can't help but see the choices we have infront of us.
Are we going to choose profit every time?
I love these conversations that touch on radical ideas of relationship with the Earth. People who care about the land they are living on and are thinking of more than just themselves. I hope you will pick up some nugget of wisdom here and support people who are doing good things for our planet; who hold wisdom.

It was my pleasure to speak with Sara Nicholson about Fairy Creek and reflect how each of us can do our small part. It feels the movement out of Fairy Creek is awakening in MANY of us, this calling. To move from our hearts. To listen to our intuition and stand up for these Ancient Trees. These Sacred Lands. To stand with the Land. If we all do our small part. Even if that is just sitting with our own hearts. Feeling. Listening. Staying Open.
We discussed the counter intuitive need to pause. To breath. To slow down. To take care of Self.
We bow to all the forest defenders. To all people doing their part in healing and being the change. It's time.
Sara has offered to be a contact if you want to get involved, but need a little direction.
Nicholson.sara@hotmail.com
This movement is all grassroots, heart driven, and no one is in charge.
All gifts are welcomed, and Sara can help connect you, or point you in the direction of action if you are inspired to help.
And as Bill Jones encouraged us, "get out to the woods".
And as Margaret Mead said, " Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has."
It is uncomfortable to feel all the pain that has been caused by our colonial past. It is hard for us to face it is still happening today. It was my honor to speak with this brave soul about her experience as a First Nation in Canada today. The forests around her are being cut down for profit. If we want to heal from what we did, if we want to give back what we took... start by listening.
At one point in this discussion, Vanessa talks about losing a sister. To clarify, this mention is in memory of Julie June Johns, her first cousin.

It was my honor to talk with Shari about her life and stories and the wisdom her Grandmother's passed on. Listen to this episode and just listen. What would that mean for us as settlers, as non locals, to give back all that we have taken? Do we have the courage to really face what is coming to the surface in Canada? Can we sit with the truth of our history long enough to let it really sink in? I think only then can be begin to act from truth.

It was a bit of a challenge to find someone who would talk to me at this logger's rally, but eventually Ron Tucker had the courage to speak. I think if we listen to each other we begin to understand where the other is coming from. The more we share information the clearer the picture becomes. I hope through these open discussions understanding grows and we find ways to work with each other that supports all humans and our planet.
It was my pleasure to talk with Brock Harrison this weekend at a logger's rally in response to the Ferry Creek blockades. He came to the conversation with an open heart and open mind. We agreed it would be amazing and effective if everyone involved could sit at a round table and have their voice heard. I believe coming together instead of focusing on the division is where the solution to this issue lies.
It was my honor to speak with Elder Bill Jones about our ancient forests and touch on the wisdom he holds.
We discuss how colonialism has devastated not only our land, but also these traditions, and customs and our relationship with nature.
We discuss the way government rhetoric, and the slant media takes is just lip service; one sided.
We talk about how decisions that are being made benefit industry and how people are starting to rise up. To call out these imbalances. To ask government to acknowledge the destruction.
Half an hour isn't enough time to discuss the process of real reconciliation.
Half an hour is just touching on the deep story here at Ferry Creek.
I hope this is just one of the many conversations we might have where we start to sit at a round table, and discuss with open hearts and open minds the paradigm shift we want to see. May these conversations unify us.
With so much gratitude for everyone standing to protect these trees.

Check out this candid talk as I get to know Sam Tieleman - Marriage and Family Therapist, who specializes in couples impacted by porn addiction. I wanted to hear what he had to say about this topic because it is of growing concern in our world. I think everyone should educate themselves on this topic, especially parents.
To educate yourself about this growing problem check out this website for statistics: https://polarisproject.org/2019-us-national-human-trafficking-hotline-statistics/ but don't stop there!
The pornography industry is worth 97 billion dollars! (https://fightthenewdrug.org/by-the-numbers-porn-sex-trafficking-connected/)
As uncomfortable as this topic makes some of us feel, if we don't see the truth of what is happening behind the porn industry, we are contributing to the existence of this abuse.
I love Sam's take on healing and his message of telling us we are not alone in our suffering, pain, or shame and his optimism that we can heal. There is always a first step we can take! Be brave.

And here is another good book by Kerri Isham - to help parents teach kids about pornography:
